Anyone with a brightly coloured nursery....?

Postby sparkle_cleo » Sun Jul 26, 2009 6:15 am

With baby#1 I kept thing's very neutral but this time around as both babies will be sharing at some point I want to go BRIGHT and I would love to see some of your babies nurseries if you went all out and used BRIGHT colours!!

Thank you! :D

Well we rent our house so I can't go painting the walls bright orange or anything like that but I am looking at brightly coloured wall art, shelves, rug, bedding, curtains so all the accessories & extras really! I love the wall stickers you can get and I have seen a tree which is rather cool. Also I am loving a kinda theme of butterflies and bugs :D

I saw a photo of a baby girl's room done in a pink flamingo theme, with some hot pink tones, it was so cute!! I also think bright blues for boys can be used if done right, along with most any color. The only color combo I personally would stay away from is brown/yellow, orange/green --those combos remind me of the 60s or 70s. I think you just have to stay away from "overkill", and use the bright tones more as accent colors rather than a focal point.
After trying for one year and a varicocelectomy for DH in 12/08, I am finally pregnant with #2!

Ours is pretty bright. We have a big sun in one corner that stretches across 2 walls. Then a tree in another corner and clouds on the ceiling.

And DD's room is fun. Probably something we will do again. The walls are bright purple with pink dots on one wall. I wish there was more of a contrast in the dots but in person there is more. This picture doesn't do them justice.

Her quilt that my grandma made for me that we designed the whole room around:

The back of it is the same pattern as her bumper pads/valances.

We're doing our twin girls room bright purple with hot pink trim along the floor and around the windows. Then again our whole house is BRIGHTLY colored. Our entire living room / dining room is kelly green, bright orange in the hallway / foyer, bright yellow and blue in our bedroom, etc.
