White for boys??

Postby Aimee25 » Thu Apr 12, 2007 3:48 pm

When we first found out we were pregnant I had already decided that I would do white (crib, dresser, changing table) for a girl and a wood color for a boy. Well, we're having a boy and it is so hard to match the different types of woods! So we went with white because I was tired of looking and not really finding anything we liked. Do you think that's too girly for a boy?? His bedding is Silver Lining by KidsLine and we painted the walls a light blue on top and kind of a seafoam green on the bottom with the border to match the bedding. Just wanted to hear others thoughts on this. Thanks!!

I do not think white is girly--it is just a wood color. I have seen really cute boy's rooms at Pottery Barn Kids (on their website and catalog) that have white furniture!

I don't think white is girly at all. It all depends on the bedding and the wall color. That will make it gender specific.

We were going to go with white if it was a boy or girl. We had boyish bedding picked out, but we are having a girl, so we chose something more feminine.

Ditto. All of my baby furniture is white and my baby is a boy.

Me too! I'm having a boy and my furniture is white. I actually bought a fairly new second hand crib. It was a woodgrain colour and there was nothing wrong with it but i've painted it white anyhow.
Once you put the boyish bedding and nursery decorations there'll be nothing girly about it.

I agree- I'm getting white for a boy or girl either way...

Here are some white crib boy rooms that I think look adorable and not girly at all....

Thanks for all the replies...my mom said the same thing. I guess in my mind I had already picked out the bedding for a girl and pictured it in a white crib. I felt so strong that it was a girl that's all I really thought about! But I love my little boy and am getting a picture of what his bedding will look in his white crib. It comes in this week so I'll post pics when it's all finished!

We had white cribs for our boys with navy, red, white, light blue plaid bumpers and light blue bed skirt. We accented with Red and airplanes. It was very cute.

I absolutely love white baby furniture and by no means is it girly. I have blue bedding so it really sets off my ds's crib very well.
