I FOUND A THEME!!!! lol

Postby ciarrasmommy » Mon Apr 30, 2007 3:37 pm

I finally found a theme after long contiplation of a nursery theme that would completely differ from most. I went with the classic princess theme for my first daughter and wanted to really put my creativity to work this time around. This is the picture that the whole nursery will be based around.

The bedding is gorgeous but you're right, i don't know if it would match the theme of the picture. I imagined more purple than pink. I love the idea though and can't wait to see the finished product! :D

That second pic matches much better. Have you tried looking at Hot Topic? They have stuff with that type of art on it. I always thought it was so beautiful. I am not sure exactly what they have. I know they don't carry crib bedding but they do carry twin, full, queen bedding.

YESS!!! lol you must have "espn or something" as DH would say lol. But yes i was going over there this weekend to take a look at some of there things because they do have a beautiful collection. That and i wanted to purchase a rainbow brite doll for both of my girls....use to be my all time favorite cartoon. And im pretty confident i can turn a single sized bed sheet into a crib sheet lol.

Well i found something to completely change the whole theme lol. But i think im sticking with this. I should have taken it as a sign the other day. A week or two ago i was laughing because 2 birds got into a fight in the tree outside my window....and reminded me of the little orange furballs from the movie the labyrinth. And i though to mysel.....today after i found a postcard i wanted to frame for little Layla's nursery....."what better way to create a nursery then one themed after one of the most magnificant fairy tale movies ive ever seen. So im going to be getting movie posters and little figurines for her room. i also have a really cool stars and moon tapestry from my high school days that i no longer use that will fit the scheme. and im going to a local head shop around here called "arons alley" and purchasing 2 more tapestrys and having them made into a crib bedding set. Because our nana knows how to sew....i thought wow...i really let my creative side out this time. ill be taking some pics of the room now and then more as it progresses. Hope to have them posted for you soon :)

heres the post card that completely unlocked my creative side lol:

I saw a butterfly set in JCPenny's catelog that would look great with your first picture.. but looking online I don't see it. However, I know they have different stuff online from what they have in the store... so it might be worth checking out?? In the little Nursery Catelog it was toward the back.

Choosing all of this is just so hard!!
God makes babies... we just need to step out and trust in his timing.
