Finally getting to something worth posting *UPDATED*

Postby BeadyBabe » Wed May 09, 2007 12:55 pm

Well, the plan has been in my head pretty much ever since I got my bfp, but it's just now getting to the point that it's being materialized. Now all the major stuff is done, I just need to get bedding/decor and finish up the trim work, etc.

This room was originally my ds's, he has been moved across the hall. There was off-white (STAINED!) carpet and I had wallpapered the bottom half with some white/yellow/blue striped paper, along with a moon and star border. The paper had been somewhat abused and was ripping, so I opted to have beadboard placed to cover it up. We had pergo installed to replace the carpet and we FINALLY got to drag the poor old crib out of storage. The furniture was ds's baby furniture, although the combo dresser and armoire had been in use in the spare room for the past few years (he has a bunk bed set with drawers).

We are hoping to use the Pottery Barn Twinkle star bedding set, and I bought some prints off ebay to frame and hang up somewhere. I bought a HUGE stuffed moon back when I was pg with ds, and we'll hang it from the ceiling along with matching stars that my MIL made. I'll update pics when we get to that point, but right now I'm just so happy to see a NURSERY in my house again, I could cry.

The closet will have doors put back up, I refused to paint inside of there when it won't be seen

Updated! Here it is almost done...still have to do corner trim, maybe crown moulding...

Looks good so far. I love your furniture. I agree with you about the painting. What's the point in painting it if it's not going to be seen?? I certainly didn't do the inside of the cupboard in our nursery. Can't wait for more progress pics.

Thanks :D I have the furniture from when ds was born, the inlaws were thrilled to finally be having a grandchild (dh is an only child) so they bought the set that I was salivating over. It is very nice, and I love it now just as much as I did when I first saw it online LOL.

My uncle came and helped put up the beadboard and chair rail, but we paid to have the Pergo installed. Tonight dh got the ceiling fan moved over from the other room (it actually matches the furniture too, bonus!) since ds has bunk beds and can't have a ceiling fan. Those suckers are HEAVY!

I'll take more pics when things get moved further along. Next on the agenda is getting the corner trim in, and then finding those prints I bought and getting frames for them.

I love your furniture. I wouldn't have painted the closet either. A friend of mine let her children take different colours of paint and splatter paint all over the inside of their closets. It was cute and the kids were happy.

Your room looks great! The pottery barn bedding will look great with your room.
I also agree about closet painting! I don't do it!
