Where to get gliders?

Postby theformerblonde » Mon May 21, 2007 9:27 am

I want a glider that looks like a regular upholstered chair, not a rocking chair. I tried out the ones at BRU, but I don't like any of them.

Any other suggestion on where to look? Online is fine too!

We ordered ours from Babies R Us, it's the sage microfiber one, looks like a regular recliner except it glides.

Land of Nod has them too. I actually went with one of the new rockers from Ikea- it is remarkably comfortable and at $119- I couldnt afford not to;-)

Do you remember the name of your Ikea chair?

I got this from Kmart of all places! I'm not going to lie- it's not as comfortable as the ones I looked at from PBK, but it will definitely get the job done for nursing and bedtime stories. ;)

I got mine from this seller on Ebay. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZbaby-n-kidstuffQQhtZ-1

It took a few sits to break in but it's getting very comfortable and I'm very happy with the quality/price. Love the ones on PBK and Land of Nod but they were too pricey for me.

The Ikea rocker is lillberg (under fabric armchir section). we got the white cushions and I will make new covers for them to match the room...At $119 , it is comfortable and rocks just fine. I also got a little non rocking footstool. I figure, I am not going to be spending a ton of time in that thing and I am going for a "modern" nursery. It was better than the $900 nurseryworks rocker that I really wanted.

I got ours at a local furniture store called Buckhead Sofa. We started looking at BRU and found they were just poor quality. Looked at Pottery Barn Kids and although they had more cushioned seats... they were also pretty poor quality (with a really hefty pricetag).

I think if you want to get a really quality chair, your best bet is to go to a furniture store. We ended up spending more money, but we're planning on putting it in our livingroom after we dont need it in the nursery anymore.
