comforters

If you got a bedding set, what did you do with the comforter? You aren't supossed to cover the baby with it.So, did you hang it on the wall or throw it over the side of the crib? Anything else?

right now it is hanging over his crib, I might throw caution to the wind and use it but if not then I will keep it put away until he is a little older and the SIDS risk is lower

Right now her quilt is hanging on the side of the crib. I will probably just put it away until she can use it on a toddler bed.

Mine is hanging over the back of the rocker. I am planning on using it when nursing late at night or to put down when the baby is playing on the floor.

I plan to use mine on the floor for belly time, for nursing late at night, and for all of those other times you need to keep a january baby warm while you are with them. I'm not leaving it over the crib or using it while the baby is sleeping though. I'm going to use sleep gowns instead, fleece and flannel ones.

I honestly am not sure when the whole "no blankets" thing came about. I had a baby in November of 04 and then all of a sudden, by 06 this was the new trend. I use mine as a blanket for the baby. Never in the history of my three kids has there been any concern for them with blankets. I also kept the bumper pads on the cribs and nothing happened there either. I am not one of those ignorant women who do whatever they want to do and risk their child's life, so please don't think that is where I am coming from. I am just not sure where the whole no blanket thing started.
