why doe my baby scream in his sleep?

Postby sunnydee77 » Thu Nov 27, 2008 3:50 pm

My son is almost a month old. He is feeding like a mad baby and after researching things, I figured it is because he is going through growth spurts. However, it seems like he never has a full peaceful sleep. He squels and screams while he is sleeping every 10-15 min. I think he is hungry, but when I go to him, he is sleeping soundly again.

Does this mean my baby is not sleeping well? He looks so uncomfortable.

my twin Peter does the same thing. I think its gas, he gets very fussy and strains and puts his legs up often. I give him Mylicon which helps tons and switched him to Similac Sensitive formula, both has helped alot.

Hope this helps.

My LO did this until she was even a yr old. I dont know why she did it but she would fall back asleep. I would be so worried go in and check on her but she was back asleep.

My sister had this problem with her son.
she took hi mto the doctors, not knowing what was wrong.

The doctor said that the baby was having ''night terrors''.

He said its similar to us, but we talk in our sleep.

My nephew got over it within a month :)

My 22 month old does this "night terrors" and has since she was a few months old and still does it.

My 12 week old also does it but at this age, I think it's gas.

As per my knowledge it is a normal behaviour of small baby getting screamed in his or her sleep. So dont worry no problem is there. It is natural.

It's normal for a young baby to make noises in their sleep--screams, cries, gurgles. My son would do it, too, and I would go to him and he would be fast asleep. I learned to listen for a few seconds before jumping up to go to him because a lot of times he would be fast asleep.

Toddlers can have night terrors--they are an entirely different thing and you won't find a child with true night terrors sleeping soundly when you get to them.
