Any one go through a VCUG?

A voiding cystiourethrogram (sp)? It's to look for reflux of urine back into the kidneys.

We have one for DD tomorrow morning, and I just found out they don't sedate for it. I know my DD this is NOT going to be easy. If you have been through it, was you LO sedated at all? If not how did they react? Was it easier or harder then you pictured?

My DD has recurring UTI's (5 in the last year) and the last one lasted over a month through 2 different antibiotics :( . She's only 2 and I just don't think she'll understand why all these strangers are holding her down, I don't want her to be afraid.

I'd love to hear anybodies experiences..

My son Noah had to have that when he was born.I was hormonal, and he was so tiny so I was a wreck.I don't recall if it was painful. They will fill the bladder and make her pea. The feeling is probably just a full bladder.Good luck.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. My youngest son had to have one done when he was four months old. Hope things went well.
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.
