Neuroblastoma

Postby ete29 » Sat Oct 29, 2011 4:12 pm

I don't know if this exactly fits this forum, but at ten months old, my daughter was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. This is a high risk cancer that is difficult to cure. She has finished five rounds of chemo and is recovering from surgery now. Next week is another round of chemo and the week of thanksgiving, she will be admitted for a stemcelll transplant. She and I will be in isolation for a minimum of sixty days and I'm feeling lonely already! If there is anyone on these boards who has faced similar circumstances, I'd love to hear from them. Prayers and support is also welcome.

Thank you Cathy. We are at the hospital for her final round of chemo before stem cell transplant. It's strange how easy it is to get used to this stuff.

I just wanted you to know that I am praying for you, your family, and your daughter. I don't have any experience with this, but I do have a very good friend whose son was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was 2. Today he is a very healthy 21 year old! I hope that gives you a little encouragement. You are in my thoughts.....

I just read your blog. Glad your baby is doing so well. I hope they beat the cancer. Cancer is the devil. :(

Thank you! She did have two stem cell transplants and is now having radiation. She has done so well! I pray the cancer stays away forever.
