Hoping - Your reg. appt. is tomorrow right? Good luck and keep us posted. The following week is u/s week for both of us I think. You are on the 25th? This is the time when they will discuss "the plan" isn't it? I don't know if I will go for one or 2 more. I haven't started seeing my reg. OB every 2 weeks yet either. I suppose that will start soon.

JT - Thanks for continuing to check in and post. I hope you are doing well! Thanks for your encouraging words. Its so helpful to have people to talk with.

Baby #2 due Oct. 6, 2008!

Hello,
Yes Jess, I have my regular OB appt tomorrow. I actually just had my MN appt changed to Sept 2nd because the urologist ended up being out of town next week.
I am sad that I have to wait another week, especially since that will be the time that they tell us the plan. I hope that the time will go by quickly.

JTsummers: I want to thank you also for checking in with both of us and the words of encouragement. BTW, Anna is just beautiful!!

Oh, I'm sorry they changed your appt. I HATE that. It's so frustrating, especially when you are scared and anxious to get more news. Let us know how your regular appt. goes.

Hello...
My regular appt went well. Baby sounds good and is definitely getting bigger. I am measuring right at 31 weeks so I am hopeful that the amniotic fluid is still good.
Ho hum... 2 more weeks until my next u/s.
I was talking to my friend who does u/s and she was telling me that different machines sometimes get different measurements, especially when they are measuring down to mm. I am crossing my fingers that the kidneys will be smaller when we go to MN.
You have your next u/s next week!! I will be praying that you get great news.

I'm glad your appointment went well. That's a great sign. I know that the baby's measurements can be off during later us/s so it makes sense that other measurements could be too.

My appt (reg OB) is Thurs and I'm hoping my baby is growing ok too. Everyone keeps telling me how "tiny" I am etc., which, in this case, really doesn't make me feel great. I"m just an avg. sized person, and I didn't get "huge" with my DS until right at the end. I think I'm sensitive to everything! Like you, I hope the measurement is right b/c of the fluid!

Jesscc, I understand your fears completely... Every time someone tells me that I am too small for my dates, I start to panic that there might not be enough fluid in there. I am an average sized person too, but I didn't get real big with DS until the last month.
I felt very reassured when the doc said that I was measuring right on. Good luck at your appt!!

Thanks for asking. Yes, my appt. went well. I too am measuring right on track, and like you, it makes me feel much better. Unfortunately, my Dr. will be out of town the week I'm due. She said she'd like to be there but...I know it doesn't matter much, but I would really prefer to have that familiar face there since I'm a little nervous this time. Oh well, I guess there's nothing I can do about that either.

Next Wed. is my u/s where they'll check the kidneys again. I'm almost dreading it which seems like the wrong emotion. Yet, at the same time, I am eager for more information. I guess I'm just worried.

I am glad that your reg appt went well.... I can definitely understand about being nervous. I am each and every time that I have an u/s. I swear I must hold my breath during the u/s... just waiting to see those kidneys and hoping that they are smaller. I know what you are going through.
I am really hopeful for you that things will be better at this next u/s!

I just wanted to check in as I'm back from the 34 week u/s with WONDERFUL news. I can't believe it. The baby's kidney's are no longer dilated, as they have healed themselves. The specialist was very surprised, smiling like crazy and telling me how lucky I am. I feel incredibly fortunate, and I'm so happy. She did not expect this, and neither did I. I will not see her again, and they don't anticipate any problems at all. In fact, they don't think they'll do any follow up.

I am stunned and incredibly grateful for this wonderful news. It goes to show that sometimes our baby's can be very strong, and it gives me a lot of hope for other LO's who have issues. I feel that it is in fact possible for really good outcomes to come out of troubling situations.

Hoping - Your appointment is on the 2nd right? I am really hoping that your LO has improved as well. You are in my thoughts!

JT- Thanks for the kind words about measuring big or small. It's so nice to talk to people who understand.

Hoping - Good! I am so glad it gives you hope -- it really should. The MFMS I have been seeing was not at all hopeful things would improve after my 28 week appt., so we are both surprised and happy. I am just tremendously (I'm sure you can understand, relieved.) I really feel that it's evidence that things can, and sometimes do, work themselves out on their own or with medical help. These little guys are tougher than we think. It's also great news that your fluid levels are so good. I am really hopeful for you too.

You are right,, babies are strong and resiliant. I have done some reading about many babies whose dilation clears up in the 3rd trimester or shortly after they are born. We are just so hoping for any kind of improvement. I am getting very antsy for my appt on the 2nd.
I bet you are just doing cartwheels right now!
