Does having an aunt with down syndrome put us at even greater risk than we already are (i have MTHFR)??

DH's aunt has DS, and the doctor didn't seem concerned when we told him. I'm not sure though. :dunno:

I think it depends on who's side of the family its on. The chances are a bit greater if its on the maternal side apparently. Thats what I learned when I told my OBGyn about my dad's mother having uterine cancer. She didnt even seem concerned at all. And when I told her about my brother having the SB genes (on all u/s they kept telling my mom he would be born with SB, but he's totally fine...but when they did testing the could see the SB gene in him) she said we'll have to test the baby for it because my mom probably has the genes too. So yeah, I wouldnt worry about it too much right now. Just enjoy your pregnancy while you still can (this kid will come fast enough) :)
