Dandy Walker Syndrome??

Postby oodahlali » Thu Jul 10, 2008 11:27 am

Does anyone have any information about this syndrome? My friend who is 22 weeks along has just had her little girl diagnosed with it. I am frantically trying to get as much information as I can about it to help her be more informed about her options. The doctors wanted her to terminate the baby... but she is def going to keep her. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Have you are she seen the blog www.audreycaroline.blogspot.com. It is a very moving story about a family whose child had some kind of disability and she chose to carry the baby to term. The baby died a few hours after. I don't know if your friend would be able to read it right now, but it might be a source of comfort for her, especially since she has made the decision not to terminate, as did this family. Good luck with you search for information. She's lucky to have a supportive friend.

Thank you Dixie! I was able to read just a little bit yesterday and it was very moving/inspiring. She seems like an amazing mother! I am looking forward to reading the rest and having it to share with my friend if/when the time is right. Thanks again!

Petal - Your prayers are so appreciated. That's all we have sometimes when everything is out of our hands. It means so much. Thank you!
