Place to talk and find support for high risk pregnancy

I hope it is not inappropriate to come and seek info in here, when I am not officially high risk.
In previous pregnancies I had my cervical length assessed as I was thought to be at risk of Incompetent Cervix, this turned out not to be the case as I had a long cervix (of steel, not wanting to dilate and then receding). I have just had it checked at my NT scan and it is 25mm which is less than half the length it was at my anomaly scans in both previous pregnancies
So any cervical length experts out there? Not too concerned right now, as the tech did not seem worried about it, but would just like to prepare myself for any eventuality.

How many weeks were you when you had that measurement done? When I was having my cervical length tracked, I was told that we would put in a cerclage if it reached 2.5cm or less before 22weeks. Unfortunately with my triplets it shortened so quickly that we couldn't do the cerclage since it was only 0.9cm once it was caught and put me into labor that couldnt be stoppd the following day. So, with my last pregnancy I had the stitch put in at 12 weeks before it had a chance to shorten.

Sorry I sent that last post prematurely.
I meant to say sorry for your loss.

That does seem a bit short. Does your doctor plan to check it again at all? I know that it can be normal to be shorter with subsequent pregnancies, but I'm not sure at what point it would be worrisome. My old MFM said they don't get really concerned until it is getting close to 1cm (which is really short).

I had a cervical length of 12mm or 1.2cm. They found it at 23 weeks. I was put into the hospital for 5 wks on bed rest. I was on progesterone daily and had weekly ultrasounds. I was sent home at 28 wks but still on strict bed rest. I made it to 35wks 6 days.

My dr also opted out of a cerclage for me. We met with high risk Drs at the University of Washington. They consulted with my dr each week.

Hi. This is probably too late of a reply, but I was diagnosed with IC too. At my NT scan, my cervix was at 4.2cm and then i started feeling a ton of pressure a month later, and my cervix shortened by half and then continued to shorten. It was too late for me to get the cerclage put in, so I was on strict bedrest starting at 23 weeks until I gave birth. I was in/out of the hospital my entire pregnancy being dialated around 26 weeks from 1 cm to 4 cm at 35 weeks! Praise God I made it to 37 weeks and 3 days! but i started walking around on my own at 36 weeks and wasn't completely on bed rest anymore. It's tough and it's scary. Good luck!

it has been a while since I have posted in this forum. But i wanted to share the website www.ic.hobh.org/forums
it is dedicated to women with IC and or at risk for IC. I created in 2004. It remains today to be one of the top forums on incompetent cervix for available and up to date info. It has been slower lately but , this is a good thing in my eyes, means less women hopefully having to deal with the condition!
I just wanted to post the link so that it is available and that you know it is there. It is a forum much like this one, and has women from all over and is very welcoming! Great girls there!! Thanks
