IUGR WITH LOW FLUIDS

Postby CrunchyMama » Fri Oct 31, 2014 8:51 am

Looks like this high risk section is very dead. ......well i will post!!

I became high risk at 28wks when baby showed 3wks behind and low fluids.

At 32wks we did another scan and she only gained 10oz so she is now 2lbs 14oz. Fluids still low at 5.3.

Baby is symmetrical so that is a positive in my mind. They want to induce at 37/38 even if still growing but i refuse.

Have an appointment at 34wks and will see how she is doing and if still growing we check again at 36wks. Long road ahead but we are eating and drinking lots....

Going from a home birth with midwife to a hospital birth with an OB has been difficult to deal with.

Thats my current high risk issues.

Crunchy mam, so sorry to hear all this news recently. It seems it is almost over for you, but yet super long with a worry everyday. it is also terrible you can no longer have the birth plan you originally wanted. I know that you will always have that in the back of your mind.

Just 8wks but feels like years and each appointment brings me fear of what could be the next problem or step we take.

Hi just wanted to let you know your not alone. My pregnant became high risk at 24 weeks. My little girl is also measuring 3 weeks behind and Is on the 3rd centile. She is growing but it's slow. She weighed 1lb 14 at 27 weeks. My dopplere are on the high side so blood flow isn't great.
They offered us an amnio to check for chromosome issues but we declined. My little girl is also symmetrical so hoping its a good sign. I understand the week by week worry. I've got 12 weeks left in theory but they have talked about inducing early. It's certainly taken all the 'magic' out of pregnancy. I'm here if you want to talk

Yeah it's not a happy one anymore! They want to induce 37/38wks and after reading a lot about risks past that time i am actually really considering it.

Rather her be here than to lose her.

Do you get scans every 2wks?? What is baby gaining between visits? Do you find it hard to prepare for nicu? I am having a really hard time!

My doppler looks great but my fluids are 5.3 so not great.

I have scans every week for blood flow and every other week for growth. I'm the opposite my fluid is good but dopplers aren't. They have said I'm unlikely to Make it past 34 weeks. I'm finding the whole thing difficult knowing she won't fit in all the clothes I have bought I'm finding hard. She was 1lb 4oz at 25 weeks and 1lb 14oz at 27 weeks.

Your right around the same size! 29 she was 2.4. I did get upset the other day knowing all my seasons are now off!! I have the cutest summer clothes and will be too big :(

I hope you make it past 34. These babies are strong so we need to listen to our bodies :) i go back for growth and fluids on Monday the 10th.

Good luck with your growth tomorrow. I've got growth Wednesday.
Been feeling a bit emotional about it all today I just want her to be ok. How are you doing?

Ok so today all the docs wanted to see was doppler and fluids, they have to wait at least 3wks to check growth. Doppler is great and fluids are much better at 6.8 that's above 5% for gestational age. Were doing good and get to go another 2wks :)

High risk doc said at the appointment on the 24th if the weight is going up and good and everything else stays good we might be able to get to 39wks!!

I hope everything goes well at your appointment, let me know :)

I had my growth and at 29 + 3 she was 2lb 5 so our little girls seem to be the same size. My doc said if everything stays as it is and she stays stable we should get to 38 weeks also and she would be approx 5lb 5 which is just amazing! Fingers crossed that actually happens.
Dopplers still aren't great but fluid is good. I've got an appt on 24th also :)

Thats awesome! At my 32wk scan she only gained 10oz so that will set her around 4lbs 3oz @39 weeks for me.

Lets hope your LO grows more than mine did in 3wks. So the 24th will it be 3wks or 2wks? If its 2 they will probably only check doppler and stuff. They told me cant check growth under 3wks because its not as accurate in case baby didn't have growth spirt yet.. thats so awesome making it to 38wks! I hope they keep growing :)

It will technically be 4 weeks as my last growth scan was at a private hospital. But the nhs hospital I go to they won't of checked it for 4 weeks. Hope that makes sense. But my hospital do check growth every 2 weeks. Yep I hope they both keep growing even if its slowly
At the moment she seems to be gaining 7-10oz every 2 weeks
