Irregular Cycle graduates- pregnant and mamas

Postby Emmo » Fri Aug 06, 2010 7:21 pm

Time to start a new thread...

Eren- congratulations on baby Lily!! She's adorable. How did everything go??

Hunnyhunny- good to see you! I made a post on the other side when I saw you were preggo and didn't think to see if you had posted over here yet. Glad you're back! Congrats again! Looks like this one was easier than the first, huh?
BTW- I'm glad to see someone attempt the VBAC. Everyone I know just seems to go along with the whole notion that once you have a C-section, you can;t go back. But I know they are safer than everyone thinks.

Hows everyone else?

I posted my birth story in the birth stories section... check it out if you have time - it`s a bit long!! lol.

http://www.twoweekwait.com/preg/communi ... c&t=176284

I`m bf`ng Lily of course and she`s gaining really well! 370g in 6 days. She was up to 8lbs7oz on Sat, 11 days old!! (8lbs2oz at birth). I`m also pumping for Ailyn and giving her it in her bottle. So far I`m managing to pump enough for one of her two daily bottles. (I guess I need to think about trying to wean her on to a cup soonish.) I hope to increase this so she`s only getting breastmilk til she`s at least two years old anyway. We`ll see.

Hunny - congrats again. I`m glad your man is helping you out. I think you`ll find it so different this time having the support! Good luck with the bf`ing too. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Emmo - Thanks for starting a new thread for us. How`s things with you?

Hmm, well you ladies both had your first LO's after me and are having your second before me, lol... maybe I should be planning the next. DH and I aren't really "ready"- DS was such a handful of a newborn that we are still licking our wounds,lol...
but we don't actually use protection, just the pull out method... I think it's because we wouldn't really mind if we got pregnant- considering it took soooo long to get preggo with the first, we'd rather "accidentally" get pregnant with the second than get so stressed over trying like last time, KWIM? On the other hand, I actually read that recent research shows the pull out method os a lot more effective than everyone thinks- almost as good as condoms! 8O

Wow Eren, still bfing both! Thats a lot of milk! And work. Good job!
Hunnybunny have you seen the :hb: yet?

Emmo - maybe you shouldn`t bother pulling out. Then if it happens it happens and you can look at it as fate. Then when you want to ttc you can do timed intercourse and all the rest of that jazz.

hunnybunny - try reading Ina May. Don`t be frightened. It`s really empowering. I felt great afterwards and still do feel proud of myself. After Ailyn`s birth I felt regrets. This time I felt none. You have to be in the right frame of mind though.

Lily was 3 weeks old yesterday. It goes so fast.... she`ll be a month before I know it... then two... then three. lol.

I felt OK with natural birth with Wyatt, and I decided I would do my best to do as little interventions as possible.... Then I went in labor for over 24 hours and by the time my dr offered to give me drugs I was too out of my mind to say no. I needed the relief big time. But I didnt regret that at all, lol. We'll see what I decide next time b/c I really do like the idea of natural.

Yeah well 24 hrs is a whole different story! There does come a point imo where the benefits of a med-free birth are probably counterated by exhaustion. Starting off life as a new mum ready to keel over is not probably the best scenario. The good thing with second labours though is they are often much faster and "easier" at least. :)

we saw the HB at 7 weeks 3 days and it was so worth every penny the scan cost. here is the pic

Awww, yay hunnybunny.

Lol Eren, true... My cousin's wife didn't think she was really in labor with her second. Her husband kept telling her "We need to go to the hospital" and she just didn't think they were painful enough. He finally convinced her to go, and on the way (like a 15 minute drive), her water burst and she said "Uh oh! He's coming right now!" and her husband said "OK, we're almost there", and she said "NO, HE'S COMING RIGHT NOW!" She had to pull down her pants and her baby just came out on the floorboard of the car!!!!! While her husband proceeded to pull over!!! LOL. Can you imagine? ha Deliveries can be sooo different from one to the next.

Emmo - the final stages of my labour were so fast! I went from 7cm to having my baby out in 12 mins and that was just 1.5 hrs after arriving at the hospital, so if we had delayed it any more, I could totally imagine ending up giving birth in the car. If (and I don`t plan on it!) I ever have a 3rd child, I`ll be heading in early just in case! lol.

Hunny - I`m glad everything is looking so good. How are you feeling now?

Hey guys! It is has been forever since I have been on here. Been so busy!

Eren- Lily is absolutely precious!

Hunnybunny- congrats!

Emmo - HOw are you?

Madeline just celebrated her 2nd birthday yesterday! Think we are going to wait a little while longer before we TTC again. I don't want them to be to far apart.
Madeline has to go to an ENT Tuesday to see if she needs tubes, but it will all work out ok! Other than that things are great! Just busy! Sorry I have been MIA!
