Christina....yes, you cut your risk significantly and cut it even more with proper nutrition. In fact, I can't see how you could develop gestational diabetes if you are eating pure healthy food. My most recent pregnant client delivered her third child at age 44. She lost all her baby weight plus 10lbs within the first year so it can be done! She is for sure my inspiration.

Theresa- that is great that she did that! I am starting to feel like I need to eat healthier too. I already have decent habits, but I could do better. I probably will actually start doing better now anyway since I'm not feeling that revenously hungry feeling that I did in 1st trimester.

Walked 4 miles yesterday and came home and did push ups and stretching! Plan on another 4 sometime today! :)

Anyhow else?

Yesterday I did 20 minutes on the stairstepper, followed by a mile walk on the treadmill at 3.5 - 4 incline at at 3.7mph pace.

This morning I did 40 minutes on the elliptical.

Not too shabby for 34 weeks preggo!!! :D

Doing 45 minutes of collapsing stairs as I write this. Plan on an hour of weight training today. Feeling pretty good this morning. Hope it stays this way which I know is wishful thinking but I'll take whatever breaks I get.

BDonat-- great job! That is awesome for 34 weeks! Glad your not having to deal with any back pain. Keep up the great work!

fittblonde- I guess you are having m/s problems? Sorry. Hopefully that will get better in a few weeks. The last time I felt a little naseaus was 8.5 weeks. Kind of scared me, but it must have been fine b/c I'm still hearing that little hb on my doppler. Also- please keep telling us all your doing. It makes me just want to do more! :)

Glad to hear workouts are still going well at 34 weeks! Awesome!

When I had m/s it was soooo hard to drag myself out the door to work out. There were times were I had to stop in the middle and take a quick bathroom break. Drinking water while working out really helped, and I felt so much better after the exercise. The good news is I wasn't sick anymore after 14 weeks--hang in there!

Last week I had a chest cold and it totally knocked me out. :( Finally got back to cardio today. It was rough! I was still coughing a ton so I had to cut the 45 minutes to 30. It's supposed to be nice outside this week so hopefully I can get back into it!

KJ511- glad your feeling better and could get back into things today!

AFM- I am 12 miles down for the week and going to TRY to get in 8 more. I'm thinking of adding something else, maybe a short 20 minute video at night once or twice a week, but I haven't decided what. Either yoga or Taebo.

Note: Probably doesn't help much that I went for a walk, then stopped at McDonald's for a smoothie and got a small fry for my son. Unfortunately, he didn't want them, so guess who ate them. :) So much for going healthy!

I had my 34 week appointment yesterday and I had gained less than a pound in two weeks, so that clearly meant I deserved a burrito from Chipotle for lunch. It happens. :D

Yes that clearly meant you deserved that burrito! No question about it!

Going for 5 miles today! (if it stops raining) Long walks with friends are the best b/c they fly by!

Okay ladies! Where are you?

I ended up walking 18 miles last week. I wish I could have gotten in 2 more this weekend, but I was super busy doing stuff with my little family.

How is anyone else doing with their workouts? How was your week last week?

Hi everyone! How are you all doing? I did some more running last week than I have been, but at a slower pace. It felt really good! It's getting to the point where I either need to go to the gym all the time or walk/run loops around my house because no matter how close to workout time I pee, I always have to go again within 10 minutes of starting! Oh my goodness! This week I'm going to try a water fitness class on Friday and see how I like it!

Way to go Kelli!

I'm definitely noticing I'm slowing down... I did 45 minutes on the eliptical this morning, but it was exhausting. Motivation is starting to wane, but I just try and keep thinking how thankful I'll be in 4.5 weeks when my little guy gets here. I got my first night of cankles last night too from swelling which was a bit depressing!

Hi Ladies,

Just wondering if I can join you? I'm currently 14 weeks and I have a SCH (subchorionic hematoma) so I have had to do bed rest, yuck! But now I'm able to start moving again, hurray!

At the beginning of my pregnancy I was doing the Summer Sander's Prenatal Workout (which I really like and has 2 workouts for each trimester). Recently my parents bought me a recumbent bike and I'm just started riding it for about 25 minutes per day. Next week I'm going for 30 minutes.

I also wanted to share Lindsey Brin's blog about her IVF story and how she got her body back. It's pretty inspiring! She's the founder of Moms into Fitness, too.

http://www.lindsaybrin.com/

So if all goes well, I'll be able to keep exercising for the rest of my pregnancy.

Thanks!
Paula

Yay, welcome, Paula! Glad to hear you are off bedrest! For an active person that must have been super-hard to cope with. Thanks for sharing the blog too--I am definitely bookmarking that for future reference! :)
