The Babymakers #6

Postby h0ping » Tue Oct 08, 2013 9:06 am

I noticed we were on page 20 ladies!!!

Rachel: I always forget about the time difference lol I was at work when we were "talking" yesterday lol.....I know about getting up early - 5am for me 8O - yes still pumping for Kyle ....otherwise I could sleep a little later!! Sorry to hear Eli isn't himself :( its hard when they are not feeling well / teething :(

Claire: We've missed you!!! I still can not believe how close we are to the next babymakers baby!! I remember you posting while in labor with Charley!! Wow some great proud mama moments!!! Charley sounds wonderful! Great job mama!

Bella: I'm always busy lol......sometimes TOO busy!! Hope Charlotte is feeling better soon!! Yay for finance on the house! How exciting!! Yes - you are right about the facebook - I don't have one and I think Claire (?) ......

AFM: Nothing exciting happening just had some time at work....quiet day today - was busy yesterday and then this morning for awhile but now quiet....I have to take the boys to the hospital Friday for their treatment and then next week to the hospital a few hours away to see a specialist - and we have to stay overnight since the appointments are over 2 days :( but my best friend lives near by and I had made the appointments and then told her the dates and by luck she is off work both days!!! :D so we will get to see her for a few hours (hopefully) both days!
Otherwise not much else happening....hope everyone is doing well!!!

Krissy - nice to hear you had a fairly quiet day. Good luck for the boys' appts.

AFM - Charlottes doing ok but not sleeping. She still has diarrhoea so not 100% better yet. To make matters worse she was having a bath with DS3 and I ducked out to feed the dogs which is like 1 room away. In that time DS3 had poured a whole bottle of body wash over her head  Went in the poor buggers eyes and everything and of course she rubbed them and made it worse. So she now has a red, slightly swollen left eye. Shes happily playing now though.
Here is my latest belly pic taken yesterday at 16wks. Its a shocking picture but you get the idea...

Alright ladies - we need some chatter!!!!

I just posted a pic in the picture thread......another milestone for my big boy - check it out!

Bella - Great belly pic!!! How is Charlotte feeling now?? I LOL'd at DS3 dumping soap on her!!! But :( sad about it getting in her eyes!!!

Well...........not much really going on with me - getting ready for the appointments with the boys this week - packed a few things yesterday but will do most of the packing Wednesday morning before we leave - we don't have to leave until late morning Wednesday which is nice I won't be rushing around trying to get everything done.....I'm most concerned / worried about Kyle sleeping and my pumping.....lol ...only because our hotel room is just a simple 1 room - so I'll have to pump in the bathroom  lol..we'll see how it goes though! And it's only 1 night........

Well anyway - how is everyone????

We need some chatter - I know everyone is busy - myself included.......I might not be back before I leave to take the boys but I will try to update after our appointments.......

Hey Krissy,
Sorry for my lack of replies. I've been reading posts but then haven't really had that much to say - but that sounds like a bit of an excuse as I type! I hope everyone else is okay - you're right, there hasn't been much chatter here lately. I hope the trip away for the appointments goes okay. A bit of a logistical nightmare having to pump in the bathroom - but only 1 night as you say! Oh and I looked at the photo of Kyle after his haircut - what a big boy! I'm not sure when Eli will need a haircut but I have been thinking about it recently. Did you do it yourself or take him somewhere?

Hey Bella - great belly pic - thanks for sharing. Hope you're keeping well.

How's everyone else?

AFM - spent my day off today baking and making dinner for the next couple of nights. Baked Eli some banana bread and zucchini bread which he loves :) I need to keep the freezer stocked up so my mum has stuff to feed him when I'm at work. I got a new slow cooker/crockpot this weekend which is great - I'm such a sucker for kitchen gadgets lol! Most Mondays are spent cooking and organising things for the rest of the week. Otherwise just a quiet weekend for us. Poor Eli is still teething like mad. I've been giving him painkillers every day for the last few days. Hoping it'll settle soon. Anyway, off to bed soon for me because early start tomorrow. I hope everyone is good. Hope to hear some updates soon ;)

Sorry ladies! I always get messed up when we start a new thread. But seriously, it takes so much time to get on here and update now because having Archer at home is a serious task. LOL I never get a break whereas when I worked that was my break, even though I worked with children. I still haven't heard back from the wic office and once again I am starting to lose hope. :( Sadly I think the government shut down is to blame. Why would they want to hire a new person if they are cutting back on everything. I'm going to go into my old tanning salon to see if she needs a little bit of help here and there. She owns her own shop but occasionally she likes a break but doesn't want to add to the payroll, so it may just be a bit of under the table cash, which is always nice. DH added me to his payroll recently and now I'm trying to figure out how to pay taxes on the money I earn from him  so much confusion going on lol. Anyway, lots of stuff is going on and keeping me busy, just like every year at fall. We have been camping pretty much every weekend and are going this weekend too as it is the start of gun season. Then next weekend we have a fall festival which is exciting. Then Halloween!! I'm am so excited. Dh, Archer, and I will all be dressing up to go trick-or-treating. Then off to Disney world :) It's going to be a busy next few weeks. Archer now has 6 teeth and finally started back on his normal sleep schedule. Thank goodness, that was a ruff month of no sleep. I am cutting back on his nursing, and now he is only nursing 3 times a day. Morning, afternoon, and before bed. In two weeks I plan to cut out the afternoon session as well and we will keep the morning and night for quite some time. I have no clue how much he weighs but we will find out on his birthday. I've been party planning like crazy and I am so excited. We are going to get a bounce house, even if Archer can't walk because of course it is his first birthday. Anyway, enough about us. I have to go get some work done before Archer wakes from his nap.

Krissy-Love the new haircut picture. He is absolutely adorable :) Yay for gaining weight sweet boy!! Let us know how the trip goes. I bet it will be a blast.

Rachel-I wish I had your cooking energy. LOL I still despise cooking even though I know I have to now. I just do not have a good routine with it. DH doesn't get home from work until close to 7 and by then Archer is cranky and won't eat. Ugh, I'll figure it all out sooner or later. I may just have to start feeding little man alone and then me and daddy eat after bedtime. I hope work is going well and sorry to hear Eli is teething so bad :( Poor guy. It was horrible for us when those 4 top teeth were coming in. Now that they are in, things are back to normal and I have a happy baby again, Thank goodness.

Bella-I love love you belly. I'm envious. I cannot wait to be pregnant again. Hope your enjoying yourself. How is Charlotte, is she walking yet?

Claire-How are you darling?>

Natalie- Loved the pictures of Vienna's birthday. I really do love her name. She's beautiful as is her mommy.

Hey I just found you!!

Was wondering why I had no email alerts! Lol
Someone should pop back to thread 5 and leave the link to this thread incase kiwi or anyone else is lost.. I'd do it but I'm just popping in quickly at the moment.

I had my 34 week check up today and all is well with #2, whose name it seems will be Joss Lyn Fernandez :) I'd still prefer josslyn but Joss Lyn with lyn being the middle name seems to be the agreeable compromise between DP n I.
Joss is head down and measuring right on track with a good strong heart beat.

I bought charley a toilet training set and some new sheets today and curtains for Joss' room :-)

Charley's been a bit sick this week :-( vomiting since Tuesday night, Tuesday night was rough but she's been otherwise happy, and yesterday she was only sick once, twice today but we saw the nurse and they gave her an immunization! I was suprised they did that when she had a low fever and vomitting but they insisted it would be fine. She's been ok this afternoon Nd had a cool bath and is in bed now.

Anyway I better run, just realized I need to go to the shop to grab something for dinner before it all closes!

Sorry I keep bailing without personals, I'll try on the weekend, I'm just so busy lately! ., still think of you all often

Krissy- I've been meaning to ask you. How is feeding going with Kyle? Can you give me a rundown. I'm trying to get a routine going with Archer and I just feel like some days he barely eats. When he stops getting milk altogether I hope he won't be starving. Also, how does the daycare do with breastmilk. Do they still offer it to him? In a bottle, a cup? I know the daycare I used to work was on a food program where they were only allowed to give something other than whole milk with a doctors note. We had a few children that were lactose intolerant so they have soy milk but I never encountered one that still chose to give formula/breastmilk. I of course will only be in the morning and night by the time he starts daycare so it shouldn't be a problem. The only thing I am worried with is that fact that they rarely offer a drink. They offer water when they are outside and milk with meals but nothing in between. I will only be leaving him from 8-2 so I'm hoping it won't be a problem. Anyway, sorry for the overload of questions, just curious.

Claire-Nice to hear from you. I think Natalie has seen the thread. She has recently commented on the photo thread. I can't believe it is almost baby time. Are you planning another induction at a certain time or just wait it out again? Joss is a nice name. Different and I like it :) We need an updated belly pic. I hope Charley girl feels better soon. I hate to hear when they are sick :(

Krissy - thanks :) How did your appt for the boys go?

Rachel - I'm a sucker for kitchen gadgets too :lol4: I want a Thermomix. Not sure if you guys have them over there but they are awesome and you can cook from scratch in a fraction of the time it usually takes and it does a million other things too. They're like $1,900 though so have to convince DH
Hope Eli is feeling better. Teething sux!

Cara - wow you sound like you have a lot coming up! Disney World sounds awesome! I hope you can work out the tax stuff :lol4:
Charlotte is trying to walk. She will stand by herself and you can see her lil brain ticking over and she takes a step and falls down.

Claire - glad to hear everything is going well with Joss :) I can't believe you're nearly at the end and she'll be here soon! I hope Charley is feeling better. I'm surprised they did her immunisation too!

AFM - I had to put Charlotte on lactose-free formula as she wasnt coping with her regular formula after the gastro. She seems to be doing a lot better since the switch and isn't pooing every nappy change now which is good for the both of us :lol4: She has her 4 molars now. They're not all the way through yet but getting there. I moved her and DS3 out of my bed and into their own cot and bed. And they both sleep in there happily thank goodness. Its nice for DH and I to have our bed back! Charlotte seems to slowly be getting better with her sleep at night. Last night she slept from 8.30pm-5am and the night before she slept from 8.30pm-2am and then 2am-6am. Its amazing how much more energy I had!
DH and I signed our mortgage papers on Friday so its all getting real now :) We hand over our deposit on Thursday and Settlement should be before the end of the month. Then once we get the soil and contour survey back and the house plans have been approved by council then hopefully by the end of November we'll start building. Super excited! Although we'll be moving in with me either heavily pregnant or with a newborn so should be interesting.
I'm starting to feel more kicks from the baby. The pregnancy seems to be going pretty quick. I have my scan on 8th Nov. Its a little bit tempting to find out what we're having but I'm sure we'll stay strong! I think we've picked our girl name but have no idea on middle names yet and can't come up with a boy name. With 3 boys already its bloody hard :|
Anyway I think I've written a novel so will leave it at that. Hope you all have a good weekend!!

Natalie: I loved the pictures lol!!! Looks like everyone had a great time at the party. How are you feeling now???

Sorry ladies......

Cara: Ok - feeding - I apologize now - this will probably be long (and maybe scattered lol)

Kyle's "daycare" day I provide breastmilk, breakfast, lunch and snack for him due to his diet needs (he is noted as dairy allergy and they do a food program also but I prefer to just provide his meals and snacks) I do bring several days worth of snacks at once - usually graham crackers and cherrios and puffs (the kid LOVES puffs lol)
His milk is brought in a little "jug" and I also bring his sippy cup - they offer it at meals and snack and in between they have sippies of water. Although for Kyle if he is really not into the water they give him his milk to encourage him to drink and that usually works.
He has never been a big "drinker" so some days he is taking less then 10 ounces of milk (in 24 hours - not just daycare!!!!) but when I talked to the pedi he said to just keep an eye and make sure he was hydrated of course but said if he was eating and drinking some and peeing etc not to worry.
He is a good eater though now most times - mainly because if he sees others eating he thinks he should eat lol!!! And sometimes he eats so fast at daycare then thinks he needs to keep eating since the other kids are still eating lol!!! Some times he will get kinda picky - but daycare has not really complained about this - I see it at home - sometimes its that he only wants part of the meal (like last night was cresent rolls - LOVES them - sometimes we have to "hide" food so he'll eat what he should lol!!!! Crazy boy!!) and other times he won't eat much...but again - doctor says not a big deal as long as he is not sick and looks good has energy etc......
So sample day (DAYCARE):
**6:15am 1/2 slice peanut butter toast and offer milk (at home before daycare)
**8am 1 package instant PLAIN oatmeal (easier then having them make him regular oatmeal) mixed with some applesauce and offer milk
**11am LUNCH (usually left overs from the night before - like today is beef stew so carrots, potatoes and meat) and offer milk
**3pm snack - graham cracker or cherrios and puffs and offer milk
**5pm (ish) dinner and offer milk (or sometimes I do a little juice 75% water - 25% juice)
BEDTIME: offer milk
No more bottles for Kyle - sippy only

I can say the room Kyle is in now is pretty structured as far as meals (which was good - in the baby room he'd of course see the other babies getting bottles and want one so at the end of his time there he was getting usually 1 bottle at daycare and then bedtime bottle - which was fine but at home he'd go all day with out a bottle so I knew he didn't "need" it - so now again when he switched over to this room he has never taken a bottle) but they will offer his sippy cup of milk if needed (not drinking water and once he was just tired etc)

I don't know if I've answered your questions but I don't mind at all :D ask away!!! That's what we are here for!!!

Oh Cara....I forgot to mention - you said Archer was not the greatest eater - as I said for Kyle he does well with the other kids - so Archer might be the same way - he may start eating better when he does to daycare since all the other kids will be eating.......

Can I ask why he'll be going to daycare??? Is it because of working for DH??

Any other questions ask away!!

Yay for questions answered! I think you did great and thank you. It just seems like at one they completely stop getting milk as often so they aren't eating as much but I guess they are. I'm just so nervous, I want to make sure Archer is never hungry. He will be going to daycare part-time I think. I need him to go during the morning when I'm doing court prepping but I usually only work until 12. I also wasn't the socialization from daycare. He does great with other kids but it's pretty much just me and him. I worked in child care so long I know the benefits are super beneficial to the child. Although, I've been having second thoughts because the center I was so fond of is now being run so poorly. I absolutely love the 1 yr old teacher. She has been there for 6 years and is very much in love with the babies but after that age group there is no stability. It really stinks because I was so excited about him going. Anyway, I've rambled quite a bit.
I'm getting more and more excited. This weekend is a annual fall festival. Then next Thursday is Halloween. Lastly Saturday morning we leave for Disneyworld! I've been planning our week all day today so we can be sure to meet all the princesses and ride the rides. I'm also trying to budget because my funds are getting low :-/. I'll be sure to post tons of pictures!

Cara: Glad I answered your questions!!! I understand about the interaction it is super important and they learn so much from eachother!! I am sorry the center is going down hill - maybe you could tour and "drop in " a few times to see how it is???? If / when I get done with work early (like 11am or noon) I now usually leave Kyle until 2pm at daycare since he has been doing good with naps (yesterday was 11:55am - 1:55pm) and I don't want to show up while he's sleeping ........plus I rationalize and tell myself I could get errands / housework / etc done instead of just picking him up to bring him home to nap.......even though I would like to lol :D but sometimes I get done at noon and from his "daily sheet" i know he is always sleeping by noon....anyway!! Sorry to ramble lol!!!

You've got a lot going on!!! I can't wait to see pics!!

Are you still pumping at all or only bf'ing???

Well Charlotte sleeping well was short lived. Shes back to waking 3-4 times/night and I just don't have the energy at the moment to fix it  1 more week until she turns 1 8O We have family coming up at the end of next week to help celebrate with our baby girl. Settlement on our land is Wednesday and we're picking house colours on Thursday so we're super pumped. Hopefully we'll get an idea of when construction will start too. DH is coming home today. DS1 & DS2 have their soccer presentation at lunch time then I have to work this afternoon. The rest of our week is very much the same with a lot of running around to do, me at work and appts so I will be M.I.A for a while.

Hope you all have a good weekend and will catch up when I'm back.
