hi everyone! thank you elysia for making this group. i am SOOOOO excited that i am able to join on this side :) i got my BFP dec 28th and due sept 5. im scared and nervous but trying to just think positive! i had a mc @ 10 weeks and a chemical in 2013 sometimes its like im holding my breath!

but my symptoms are definitely strong and this one feels 'different'. or maybe im just so determined to believe this is it. my son (3 yrs old) was in the washroom with me this morning and he mumbled something. i asked what did you say? he said its a girl mommy. i said what is a girl? and he then pointed at my belly! i was shocked. we haven't really told him im pregnant. intuition maybe?

all the best for everyone!! im excited to see the progress with everyone, and i agree with elysia, post lots of PICS! :)

SMASHLEY1565! Now you totally have to tell us right away after your big u/s if it's a girl. How crazy awesome that your son just knew...

Welcome to everyone I haven't had a chance to say "Hi" to yet. So excited for all of us and our adventures in 2014!

Not too much going on here, just trying to pull myself out of the holiday/time off from work haze and get back to it. Obviously since I'm on here and not working you can see it's not going so hot. Oopps.
Anyway, totally stoked that DH got to feel the baby kick last Sat! He seems more facinated to watch it poke my belly then actually touch it. He loves to see the movement and just grins and laughs. I know we sound corny but since this is our first I figured we're allowed some time to be cheesy. It was such a blessing too since he left the next day with his family for his uncle's funeral - he passed on Christmas day. I stayed behind to watch my in-laws' dogs and our cats but I got send my DH off with some joy.

LOVE & HUGS!

Welcome ladies! So great to hear that will be joining us. I've been reading everyone's updates, but been so terrible at actually hitting "reply" myself. Lately I'm just dragging- and having some time off has actually made me lazier ;)

Although, today I actually got to work first thing this morning and was incredibly productive. Perhaps it's a precursor to the famous second trimester energy burst?! I have my NT scan on Monday (12 weeks). Otherwise, two more weeks until next ob appointment. Not much else to report for me...

Welcome again, and congrats!!

Hello all and Happy New Year!!

I hope that everyone enjoyed the holidays.

I spent a nice long time at home with my mum just after Christmas and just got back a couple of days ago.

So updates from me...

We had a little scare over Christmas. I'd started noticing Braxton Hicks contractions (which have totally freaked me out!!!) and was getting some lower back ache so went to get myself and the nugget checked out at the hospital. All is fine and I was just being neurotic, but who can blame me! Better to be safe then sorry... Turned out is was prbably a UTI so ws prescribed some antibiotics to clear that up.

We've been waiting for appointments etc from our specialist hospital for Nuggets heart condition. It turns out that there has been some miss communication between the two hospitals but hopefully this will be sorted out later today. It's been a long 5 week wait!!
We had a growth scan done yesterday morning which DH and I were both nervous about as we didn't want them to find anything else wrong but all is looking great!
This little Ninja Nugget is growing so well!! He's well in the 90th Percentile for his head circumference and Femur length and even above this for his abdomen size. He's definitely a little chubster just like his daddy was when he was born. I was so proud of him!!
They do want to check me for gestational diabetes just in case (there was a tiny bit of glucose in my urine yesterday, but none this morning at my other appointment...), but the midwife was really positive about him being big, as he'll be better able to deal with surgery if he's bigger.

Another interesting development, during the scan yesterday, both DH and I swear we saw little boy bits, but have had nothing confirmed. This makes me even more convinced that Nugget is a little dude, but it can be difficult to tell, so we're still technically team green!

All in all feeling really positive at the moment as things are progressing really well and we're both doing great. I'm so excited for the next few weeks, we've only got about 13 to go now what with a planned induction. That's less than 100 days!!!

Here's a little piccie taken a couple of weeks ago.

Sam32, yay for finding the heartbeat! It must be such a relief to know that your little nugget is doing well in there :-) When is your next dr appt?

Alissa, thank you for thinking of me! How are you feeling these days?

Rachel, so glad you found us over here! You need to post a pic of that bump :-) I can't wait to bust out the maternity clothes. I'm at that awkward in-between stage where my clothes are tight & I look fat, but not enough of a belly for maternity clothes yet! You will be finding out the gender of your little one so soon! Feb 18th will be here before you know it!! Are you hoping for a particular gender?

Welcome Melanie! So nice to see you over on the prego side!! FX this is your sticky take-home baby! Please keep us updated on appts, betas, etc once you do call the dr :-)

Smashley, I'm glad you found your way over here too! We have a nice little group going here and it is so exciting to hear about everyone's symptoms, bumps, appts, etc! I know it is hard not to worry, but try to relax as much as you can (easier said than done, I know...and I should really practice what I preach, lol). That is too funny about your DS. Mine did something similar...just 3 days after I got my BFP, we were watching his friend for the day and he told his friend "mommy is growing a baby in her belly"...we hadn't told him yet, so it was really bizarre. I guess we'll see if your DS is right in due time! Will you be finding out the gender? Do you have a preference? My DS is convinced I am having a boy, so we'll see if he is right at the end of Feb/beginning of March!

Gina, you are totally allowed to (and supposed to) be cheesy! I'm sorry to hear about your loss and hope your DH & family are holding up okay. What a horrible day to lose a loved one :-( Thinking of you sweetie! Oh, and I am also majorly struggling to get back into the swing of things here too. DS doesn't go back to school until Tuesday, so for now I am just trying to enjoy a few more days of not having to get up & run out the door!

SherBears, I've been dragging too. My house is a disaster & I really need to take down our tree and put away the Christmas decorations, but I just can't seem to find the energy. My energy levels do seem to be improving slightly, so hopefully the worst is behind us! I hope everything goes well at your scan on Monday! FX for you!!

Sam, I'm sorry to hear about your little scare, but I'm so glad to hear all was okay and that you got to enjoy some extended quality time with your mom :-) I'm sure they told you this at the hospital, but if the BH contractions get bad, trying resting & drinking lots of water...that usually helps things settle down a bit. I've heard that the BH contractions are worse with a 2nd pregnancy, so I am sure I will be a hot mess once they start...you are not alone! I'm also so happy to hear that your little (possibly male) ninja is growing to be so big & healthy. That can only be a good sign!! Were they able to give you any additional/updated info on how is heart is looking? I'm crossing everything that you are able to get things sorted out with the fetal heart specialist so you can create a solid plan for when your little one enters the world! And your belly is so round & cute...I love it!!

AFM, not much new to report here. Next OB appt is on Tuesday and I can't wait (only 4 more days!!)!! 4 weeks between appts seems like a freakin eternity. I just want to hear my nugget's heartbeat again and get some confirmation that all is well in there. And my NT scan is 2 weeks from today...I so can't wait to see how he/she is looking in there! Since I am stuck in the house today (thanks to 6 inches of snow last night and a thick layer of ice covering everything with a forecasted high temp of 14 degrees Fahrenheit today...so no hope of any thawing), I am going to try my best to muster up the energy to work on learning my new Bodyflow routine that we are launching on Sunday, clean the house, and take down the tree. That may be a bit ambitious on 6 hours of sleep, but I am going to try my best! Happy Friday ladies!

Smashley-I feel as if I'm holding my breath as well because of the miscarriage just a few months ago. However, I'm going to have faith this time around that everything will turn out as it should. Trying to enjoy this pregnancy one day at a time.

Turtle-This will be my fourth child and I will still be cheesy. It's my DH's first so I want him to be able to be excited as much as possible with this pregnancy. I'm so sorry for your family's loss. Any loss is hard but when it's around the holiday's it especially tough to deal with.

Sherbears-Hopefully it is that second trimester energy burst and it will stay with you for a while.

Sam-I'm glad the contractions went away and all is well. Your little nugget sounds like he (or she) is growing quite well:) Your photo look fabulous by the way.

Elysia-I remember when I was pregnant in my 20's that the 4 weeks in between appointments didn't bother me much because I never though anything could go wrong. But I know now it will feel like an eternity and I will have to work hard at not driving myself mad wondering if everything is ok in between appointments. I hope that your energy level is finally on the upswing! What I wouldn't give right now to feel totally exhausted and even a little (only a little) nauseous just so I knew things were progressing. I just keep telling myself that I'm still early and that the fact that my boobs hurt as much as they do is some sort of sign.

This weekend will be spent helping my daughter do her 5th grade science project. We are such procrastinators that we waited til the last minute to do it because of the holidays. So I took another FRER this am and it looked just a tad bit darker (I didn't bring it to work with me so I can't post the pic just yet). So I went out and got the ClearBlue digital weeks estimator test and it came up 1-2 weeks past ovulation which should be about right. I'm just at the point now when things with the last pregnancy stopped progressing (however, the FRER is a bit darker than the last pregnancy though) and am hoping it continues to progress. I have one more ClearBlue and will take it next week. I'm praying that it advances to the 2-3 weeks past ovulation at the very least. I hope to hear from the dr today and will ask him if he can just prescribe me the progesterone as a precaution. I'm trying to have faith that all will go well. I remember after my miscarriage begging and pleading with God for me not to get pregnant ever again unless I was going to be able to keep it.

So, I'm a crazy person and can't wait til Monday to know a range of where my hcg level is at. That being said, I've been online researching and found that the FRRR (First Response Rapid Result) test's sensitivity is somewhere between 50-100 mIU/ml hCG which is why it says to only take it that you should only take the day of your missed period of after (I'm on CD27 today so I should be late today). Some sites say your hcg has to be 50 and some say 100 before you get a BFP with this test. So I went out and bought one at lunch (of course) because I figured if I get a faint positive on it then at the very least my hcg should be 50, possibly even 100 (which is higher than the last pregnancy's ever got) and it would make me feel more at ease. So here's a picture of it (I took it with very little hold after a late lunch and have been drinking a lot of water all day):

Image

I have to keep telling myself that it's going to be lighter than the FRER test I took this morning.

Sam, oh my the same thing happened to me yeaterday. I started w full on contractions 3-5 min apart for 2 hrs. Went home and layed down for several hrs. Still had bad cramping so went to the dr. Did an exam. She told me i was completely thinned out. Did an ultrasound, vaginal and through the belly to check fluids, and cervix. Did find out my boy is 1lb 6oz now. Took a urine sample and sent it out. They think their was blood in my urine so uti or possible kidney infection, sent me home with antibiotics. Cramping stopped for awhile but started back up this evening ....
Glad you are doing better and your nugget is growing and doing well.. thats always exciting
Melanie, your test look good and i would say you have some good levels. Fx for a sticky bean.
Elishya, hopfully the tired worn out part passes soon. The every 4 week apts are a pain when you have alot on the line and a lot of fears. Good luck at your scan here in a couple weeks...

Happy New Year All! Hope you all had a good one :)

Elysia, thanks, it was really awesome! Considering our Midwives here won't test for a heartbeat til our 20 week scan, I was shocked to actually find it myself so early. I haven't been able to find it again though since, which is frustrating but I can only assume little bean is moving around alot in there and hiding from me lol.

Got my NT scan on the 14th January so not long now til I see baby :D Can't wait, though I can't believe how expensive a scan is to have a print of! /facepalm

Oh, OH and I also told the whole family, friends and work ppl too, so now the secret is out but everyone is ecstatic for us, and will be my families first grandchild :D WOO! Just thinking of baby names now. I think we have settled on Oliver for a boy though :D

Hi all. Ktee sent me over from the TTC boards cos I got my BFP on 28th Dec so am 5w1d today.
Still in total shock over the this... My first ever bfp and terrified of what might go wrong over the next few weeks/months.
Sam32.... Good to see you on this side girl!

Currently having very few symptoms which was stressing me out but lovely ladies on this site have reassured me it can be normal.

Hello to all here and looking forward to (hopefully) stalking y'all through the next 9 months!

Melanie-i was just put on bed rest for a few days to make sure the antibiotics were working and the contractions were stopped completely. When i am up working and stuff. I still cramp and stuff.. sucks. I am thinking its actually a kidney infection. Went all day yesterday and only went to the bathroom twice. Very odd for a pregnant woman.

Floss! Welcome!

Hey girls..

Mrobyn when is your doc appointment? That should help put you at ease

Currently I'm feeling guilty for being in maternity pants already. I'm not even 12 weeks yet and none of my pants fit. I can force them to button, but who wants to be that uncomfortable?! I feel like I already have a little bump and that it's too early for that. My doctor said he could feel my uterus 3 inches above my pubic bone two weeks ago. I see him again on Wednesday so well see what he says. My mother showed early with her pregnancies because she has narrow hips and a high uterus. Who knows... I just hate that I feel guilty about it. I think I'm afraid it's all in my head and I'm just gaining weight. Ivebeen really good about working out thiugh. Crossfittjng 5-6x a week. I got cleared from my doc to do it. I can do the hard stuff until my second trimester. I even did 40 handstand push ups today!!!

Thanks for listening to me vent.
