Our Christmas was insanely busy and so I'm glad its over. We all got spoiled, both DH and I are from divorced families so its four times the presents, and our daughter was so overwhelmed with the gifts she started getting cranky on Christmas day. She's only two so she fully got the concept of christmas this year but it was too much lol.

Lauren- wow that looks so nice! We had a wet and rainy christmas for the first time in a long time lol

Lucky- that is horrible, i'm so sorry, sounds like a complete nightmare and to happen in your 3rd trimester too. Horrible. Our friends both got laid off on christmas eve this year (they are mill wrights) and it was a huge shock to them as well, they have to postpone their destination wedding now. I don't understand why these stupid cooperation's do this around the Christmas season, absolutely disgusting in my opinion. I'm sending you good thoughts though, you and your DH that things start turning in your favor again. Universe can be cruel sometimes. But its nice that your willing to let him live with you if needed for employment despite being separated, that's extremely big of you and not many women i know would do that. Koodos to you. Be positive too! Even if you feel like you can't be, even if you have to fake it because like they say 'what you put out there you get back' or something so you never know. In 2015 things could fix themselves up pretty quickly!

Hope everyone had a great new year, and had fun if you celebrated!
We did and now our whole household is sick lol
Coughs, sore throat, runny nose. Its a mess. My 2 year old caught it Tuesday so naturally this morning DH and i woke up with the same symptoms. I'm annoyed because while they can take their OTC meds for some relief I'm stuck with my teas with honey and lemon or strawberries. That's it. Thank God for cool mist humidifiers.
In addition! Baby is almost at full length (DH's side of the family are all tall so babies tend to be long and skinny when born) that sometimes when she moves its like shes jabbing me and it hurts (i can't remember if my first did that). So sometimes i'm in a annoyed mood because of the jabbing, now the cold and how sometimes baby stays put higher for some reason and has me feeling extra bloated. AHHH third trimester lol am i right?
How is everyone else????

We had a pretty good new years eve, my parents watched all the kids so dh and I went out to eat at a really good restaurant and then went to the casino for about an hour,we were still home by 8 30 pm lol. Dh and I joked that we must be getting old or we're just super boring people bc we HARDLY EVER EVER get a baby sitter (especially for all 3) and we're still home before 9 ON NEW YEARS EVE lol. Oh well it was still nice to get away just me and him :) and we got a bunch of free noise makers, hats, headbands, necklaces, and feathers for the kids at the casino that they were giving away at the door, the kids all loved the goodies to 'bring in the new year' with...even though we did the count down at 10 instead of midnight... Oh well they didn't know the difference lol.

Nicole, I hear ya on the painful jabs, I never had that problem with any of my dds,so I always wondered if women were just exaggerating when they'd say that the baby kicks hurt or were getting annoying....well now I know what they're talking about. It just started getting painful in the past week or so (before that I was actually worried bc I thought he wasn't active enough). It's not painful all the time just in certain spots or when he really gives it. I'm wondering if it's his position and I'm starting to worry that he's most likely still not head down, I know he still has time to turn but my girls were all pretty much head down since my 20 week ultrasounds. I feel a lot of movement down low, some around my belly bottom and sides. The strangest movements are the ones that are towards my back and the back of the uterus...you know what I'm taking about? It feels strange. And I now know what women mean by using the bladder as a punching bag lol.
Also, my bathroom breaks are now becoming URGENT! As in if I don't get there now now I'm going to pee my pants. But then sometimes I'll go and it will be barely at all and then 10 minutes later I have to go again...I doubt I have a UTI as I've never had one before so I'm not prone to them and there's no pain or burning associated with it. I think baby just has a lot of pressure there right now. Sleeping sucks and is so painful...ugh! And the overall pain and ache in my uterus and pelvic area is back and starting to get more severe as the days go by. I feel huge and I know I'm just going to get bigger
...ummm what else lol. Oh crotch lightning is back sporadically again. Thirsty all the time. And starting to get tired a lot more again during the day like the first tri, sometimes I feel like someone slipped me a roofie(spl?) in my drink Lol. Like I'll try to get up from a nap and feel so drousy or I can barely keep my eyes open at dinner, not every day but the fatigue and exaustion is definitely making a come back. I have the drive to nest some days but I just don't really know where to start, I still have no clothes for this baby (or anything for that matter) that's for a boy besides the gender neutral stuff we still have from dds'. And no where to put my youngest McKenzie yet. She will be sharing a room with her older sister Natalie, but we need to get her sleeping in her own crib again first. She was doing great for a while but now she won't fall asleep in there so most nights she sleeps in our bed. I want to get her moved out and situated in sisters' room way before the new baby gets here so she doesn't feel like she's suddenly kicked out and being replaced as I don't want there to be any bad feelings towards the baby, she's already going to have to adjust to not being the baby herself anymore...I'm feeling some guilt about that, I went through that guilt though with all my kids when I got pregnant again lol and it does go away. Ugh so much going on...didn't mean to write a short story lol. How's all my prego ladies doing lately? :)

lauren- that is EXACTLY how my peeing is going! At night it wakes me up and if i don't get out of bed within a second i feel i could just pee lol then i go to pee and its nothing and an hour later i'm up again to pee lol Or during the day i feel like i have to pee and go to the bathroom and nothing comes out. Baby is torturing me lol....good luck with relocating your little girl. It probably will be hard at first but maybe she'll be a quick learner and be excited to share a room with her sister?

Hey guys! I've missed you all! I don't think I've ever been away from the forum for such a long time since joining.
Lucky - I'm so sorry about your DH's job, I can't imagine the amount of stress it's going to be figuring out how to make it all work with the baby arriving soon. I really hope it all works out for your family. Good to hear your DD had an awesome xmas though!
Lauren - The pictures of where you live in the snow are beautiful! Good luck with all the baby shopping and bedroom-shuffling. Hope your DDs adapt well to the change!
Nicole - I've been reading your book whenever I get 5 minutes free from all the family stuff, really enjoying it. I can see what you mean about the typos though, and the formatting looks a bit weird on my Iphone (I've been reading it on my phone since I don't always have my kindle on me). It's a really fun read so I don't really notice it anymore but since you mentioned not being super happy with the job the Nano people did I did keep my eye open. Are you gonna self-publish the next one?
Goddess - Yup I have been leaking too, for a few weeks now, just from the left boob (go figure). I'm using breast pads as it was really bothering me, but I got the washable kind as I thought it was crazy how much it was gonna cost me in disposable pads considering how many weeks there are left in this pregnancy (not to mention how many I'll need once breastfeeding!)

my update - Aside from the boobs leaking, some occasional BH contractions - which I seem to mostly get when I overdo it, activity-wise, I can't complain too much about the beginning of the third trimester. Baby girl doesn't seem to be as active as before, but the doctor said it's just because she has less room in there. The most annoying part of her movements is that she literally has hiccups all the time. And I absolutely hate when she gets the hiccups with her head right in my nether regions. It's really really uncomfortable.
My big complaint here is my overall health. Christmas time was crazy as we did lots of driving around the country to see DH's family, and literally all they wanted to do was go for walks in the snow, and no one cared that I was pregnant and couldn't walk super fast. (sorry I'm being a little whiny about this). So we got home a few days ago and I've been so poorly and in bed all the time. I literally feel like my immune system finally gave up on life. I have a huge ulcer on my tongue which means I can barely speak or eat, my ear and throat hurt on the same side, like full-on throbbing 24/7, and I have an awful yeast infection due to finally managing to have intercouse after something like two months (sorry that's a bit TMI). I saw the doctor and she wouldn't give me anything (aside from thrush cream for the infection) and just said to come back in a week if I haven't gotten better...
Also, 01 January is my birthday and it was just miserable and I spent my time crying. I'm having a bit of a life crisis. I didn't get interviews for the two jobs in the US I applied for in the fall. I have an application to finish very soon for a job in Scotland but I have no motivation to do it. I have tons of writing work to do due asap but because it's all for FREE (yep, gotta love academia) I don't want to do it. I was offered to teach again next term, once a week, but I don't know whether I should do it because it means I'll be working until 38 weeks and I'm really scared I'll go into labour before then.
I have become obsessed with the idea of just going home to Paris to be with my family. DH is open to it as he hates his job here and doesn't feel any strong attachment to his country. But we'd probably have to live in my studio there, at least for a while, and a studio for 3 dogs and a baby might be a little nuts. So anyways I just feel lost, and I don't know what I want to do with my life at all...

Alpaca! Missed you girlie! Sorry you're having such a hard time with life right now...we all go through that from time to time. I hope you start feeling better too, it's always even more overwhelming when you're not physically feeling good either.

LuckyD, I hope you're doing OK and that things will start to fall into place with your dh's job and your guy's relationship stuff.

Hugs to all xoxo

alpaca- I'm so glad you like it! I've been kinda nervous if maybe its not good at all and the nano people where deluded in picking mine haha...But yes have you noticed the formatting and small typo errors? I am definitely self publishing my next one or maybe i'll send out manuscripts to bigger houses we'll see. It's doing well in sales which surprises me and the paperback is going to be ready to order this Monday for people who want an actual book to read. Thanks again SO much for giving it a read :) ....I'm sorry about the jobs in the states, that's a bummer. I actually thought you may get them too, so it's their loss. I'm with you on the sickness front. My daughter caught a cold my in-laws had and now i have it so i fully understand the soreness and weakness and you can't take anything to numb it cause your pregnant so it sucks. I'm hoping your yeast infection clears up soon and without issue so you get a break. We currently live in a duplex with my father in law at the bottom and though its decent size our apartment with a Border Terrier, a cat, and a two year old its already crowded lol so i fully get the whole studio apartment issue!

Goddess- omgosh i'm so sorry about the hospital trip! Thank goodness it was nothing serious, and your almost at 32 weeks so not much longer yet!!! Hopefully she settles down a bit for you with the jabbing movement; mine is doing it constantly and sometimes it really hurts.

Goddess - So glad it wasn't your water breaking! It must have been really stressful. Hope the pelvic pain gets better
Lauren - Thanks, I think the exhaustion from a crazy busy christmas is clearly not helping my state. I need to get myself together!
Nicole - I just finished your book last night, I was so sad it was over, I wanted to read more! I think you really did a great job with the whole story, the characters, everything, I enjoyed it so much!

Today DH is back at work and I need to get my act together at long last. Lots to do! I have a feeling this third trimester is going to go by both incredibly slowly and fast at the same time.

alpaca- did you!? You're a speed reader, love it! I'm glad you liked it....i know what you mean about it going slow and fast; last week everything went by super fast and now everything is going by slow. Nesting has hit me though, i think. Were powering through house hunting (its my fault i've been slow on it and DH wanted to seriously start looking this past summer--and i'm finding myself insanely picky which annoys him--its our first house so i know its a 'starter' home i shouldn't be SO picky. I'm also a tad of a commitment phob so that has a lot to do with it i think haha). But today after i woke up, watched some The Office, i suddenly wanted to clean our apartment and get the baby's new dresser together, go get the new bassinet etc. FINALLY. I felt slow, seemed like everyone was nesting on this site who was due in march and April except me.

Nicole - I kinda spent three hours on the couch last night finishing it, while DH was like "get to bed now" haha. I'm looking forward to reading your nano from this year whenever it's out. About the nesting, I'm super behind too, if only you could see our baby's room... It's where things go to die in our flat lol. It's got all this furniture we're getting rid off, and tons of clothes we're supposed to be selling on Ebay. There is painting to do as well and it probably won't happen until the February school holiday when DH will be off work...
I feel you about the stress of house-hunting, when we bought this place it was incredibly stressful and the paperwork ended up taking so long because the mortgage people kept making mistakes in the contract and having to redraft it, so that we were "homeless" for a month (I ended up living with DH's parents with our three dogs while he was staying with colleagues from work to avoid a daily commute of 2 hours. That was literally a month after getting back from honeymoon. Not the nicest way to start a marriage...). It's normal to be picky, and for the whole process to take time. I hope you find somewhere you like soon :)
