Wonderful news!!!!!!!! Congratulations! Seriously it's the best of both worlds. I love that I get to shop for pink AND blue! I just knew it was twins when you said side by side- so the ramzi method worked for us both! I bet it was a great experience and I can't wait to hear about it!

Morning ladies!

Sara, so glad that your cervix has stayed steady!! How was the shower?!

Reapage, it's definitely a thrill to be able to have both at once! I have some Gap coupons ready to be used haha

So the experience was wonderful. I told the place beforehand that my family didn't know there are twins so they wouldn't mention it before we had the sonogram. Once in, we all settled down and we set up a camera to capture their reaction. The sonographer started the u/s and said "You see this flickering thing? That's the heartbeat. And...This flickering over here, is another heartbeat. They're twins!" My family was in shock and burst out screaming and laughing. My parents got teary eyed while watching the u/s too. The sonographer said it was a little hard to tell which one was closer to the cervix but he picked the baby on my left which is opposite from what my NT tech chose lol. Now here's the part I'm not too sure about. He was looking for the gender and he didn't really do a shot between the legs but when we went to the side profile he pointed out the femur bone and said "This section here is the developing labia!" So that's our baby girl. I look at the picture and keep wondering can you really tell it's a girl?

After we all screamed out in joy hearing it's a girl, my heart was beating fast waiting to find out what the other baby is. It took a long time. He was being stubborn and I had to go on my side twice and finally after 4 minutes, the sonographer was able to get a shot between the legs and it was clearly a boy! Everyone cheered and we were happy and got to see the babies in 4d.

Furbaby and everyone else, I hope you are all doing well!!! I can't believe we're in September!

Babyopeful - Congrats, so exciting. It so wonderful that your family was able to join you and get such a surprise! No experience here with gender scans, but I would trust the tech. I'm sure you can get further confirmation at your next OB scan.

Sara - How was your shower? Still holding steady at 4cm?

Reapage - I don't have a pregnancy belt but may need to look into purchasing one! It's super crazy hot here right now and the last thing I want is any additional clothing but once it cools down I think it will be helpful!

Not much to report here. I've been super busy with work and the new school year. I just realized that my countdown to baby has hit single digits - 9 weeks until my due date!!! I should probably start thinking about packing a hospital bag and such. They did increase my insulin injections, but it is still only once a day and the tiniest little needle so I'm not overly concerned. I have an OB appointment tomorrow so I should find out when she wants to start my non-stress tests and growth scans. I have an u/s scheduled for 2 weeks from now to check my sch so I can't imagine she would move that date up, but I will not complain if she does - I haven't seen the little bug in 11 weeks! Ohh....something to look forward to for many of you - lo has run out of room and now pushes against either side of my belly to stretch out/flip/kick/etc, and in the process sticks it's little bum out, you can see it bulging out of my belly. It's super cute but also quite uncomfortable.....

Hope eoe is feeling well! The recent BFP's from the board should join us over here - I would love to hear how everyone's pregnancies are progressing!

Babyhopeful, something similar happened to me- when we did the 12 week scan she didn't give us any photos at all and at the 14 week elective scan they gave me a photo of our girl and not our boy... its annoying because you want to see it for yourself, but they know what they are talking about! Especially with the girl- my tech told me that girls are the easiest to tell and you can tell first. She gave me a photo, but Ill have to figure out what I did with it. Might be in my car. Anyway, it didn't look like yours, but it looks like yours just wasn't a good shot, I would trust them 100%

Furbabymom, I cant wait until my babies are that big!!! As uncomfortable as it sounds I bet it is very assuring and cool!

AFM, I am dying from heart burn, and I am starting to stress my 20 week scan. I just hope we have healthy parts developing in there!

Thanks ladies :) My family and hubby tell me to trust the sonographer too haha I need to schedule my anatomy scan next Friday so I'll find out when that scan will finally happen!

Furbaby, it's amazing that you are down to the single digit wait! 9 weeks will fly by! I'm sure that work has been even more tiring now that you are in your 3rd trimester. I would say, start packing that hospital bag before you get even more tired! Do you already have the nursery all set up? I can't believe you haven't seen your baby in 11 weeks. Things are definitely different between multiples and singleton in that regard! Oh, I bet the pushing around gets uncomfy. I know it's a joy to feel your baby move but I hear it can hurt at times.

Reapage, boo on the heartburn! Are you changing your diet to help with it? I was getting heartburn drinking ginger ale which just made me feel worse so I stopped drinking it. Don't fret about the 20 week scan, I know you and them will do great! I have confidence your babies are doing well in there!

Hey ladies! Sorry I haven't been posting much lately...the wifi here at the hospital sucks! The shower was AWESOME! I was able to see some people that i haven't seen in a long time, and had CAKE!!! After being on hospital food (and the carb restrictions) for 2 weeks, actual sugar was really nice! My nurses were shocked that even after the cake and our Olive Garden dinner, my blood sugar was really good! I guess the insulin helps! I officially hit 28 weeks yesterday! After the doc saying a few weeks ago that we would be lucky to make it to that number, I am very excited! Now, if the girls are born early, they have over a 90% chance of survival!!!

The Sunday after the shower, my mom and sister decorated our nursery. It was a bit sad for me, since i wasn't able to be there to help, but they did an amazing job! Here is a video they took so that I could see it! https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153598528018288&l=3331383290683658174

I hope everyone is having a great Friday!

yay Sara! Those are all wonderful news! Congrats on hitting 28 weeks viability! Yay for insulin too and being able to have cake!! I bet that was heavenly!
Your nursery is so cute! I know you can't wait to take home your two sweet girls to that nursery :)

I can't wait to start on my nursery! We need to kick my husband out haha It's his office right now so once he's out, I can really start figuring out paint colors. It'll be in a grey hue though. Here's my concept board for the nursery :)

I've had it since June and can't wait to start implementing it! Safari theme for me hehe

Sara - I am SO SO SO glad you had a great shower and I love the nursery! 28 weeks is such a milestone - you are doing such a great job, these girls are lucky to have you as their mom! (and yay cake - man do I miss cake!)

Reapage - I hope the heartburn gets better! That is one symptom I have managed to miss so far, but I can only imagine that it is miserable. Have you talked to your OB about relief options?

Babyhopeful - Great theme! My nursery is grey and yellow, I love the color combo.

So I think I am falling behind everyone with the preparations lol. I have my crib set up and a rocker, but that is it. DH is refinishing a dresser for the baby, but he is not done yet so right now all the baby's clothes are filling his/her crib. This is the one downside of having your shower at 36 weeks! I do not want to purchase anything but I cannot yet finish setting up. I am hoping to make a few necessary purchases for my hospital bag this weekend, I need nursing bras, tanks etc. I guess I really haven't wrapped my head around the fact that baby is coming sooner rather than later!
My nurse is having a hard time figuring out my blood sugars so they keep adjusting my insulin. At my OB appointment on Wed I was told I have to start weekly non-stress tests and we will schedule growth ultrasounds as we get the results, but my u/s appointment for the 23rd is still a go thank goodness!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ohh and remember when you asked if the kicks hurt Babyhopeful? They now officially (at times) do. Baby is having a love affair with my left hip bone and rib cage. S/he keeps sticking it's tiny hand into my hip and foot in my rib. I still love feeling baby move around but those ones are super painful!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Morning ladies!

Babyhopeful, I hope you are right about the 20w scan. Its so nerve wrecking. I just feel like if we get the green light on that, we really will be the home stretch and our only major concern will be keeping the babies cooking for as long as possible. How is the heart burn for you? Its funny because everyone says it means the babies hair is growing- and I was looking at my 19 week overview yesterday and yep, its time for hair growth! So fun! Random foods set it off for me, like a green tea I had yesterday, and salmon w/ lemon I had last week.. I just take Prilosec when I feel it coming on and Im good as new. So when is your 20w scan?

Sara, glad to hear that you had a good shower! The nursery looks great!

Furbabymom, LOVE the Safari theme!!! I too have been working on our nursery forever it seems. It got me though IVF lol. I have an addiction to Pintrest. I'll attach a collage I made. A shower at 36 weeks is insane! its my goal to keep the kiddos in until 36 weeks haha, I cant imagine having a shower then. I am determined to have everything ready by week 30, but I think with a singleton you have more flexibility. Your pregnancy is zooming past. You are going to be meeting your LO so soon. I hope they get the insulin figured out!

AFM, I will attach a photo of a collage of a few items that are going into the nursery. We got the paint and dh will start paining and doing the moldings this weekend while my sister and I hit up my Mothers Of Multiples fall consignment sale! I cant wait. Also, 20w scan in s-I-x days. Ugh I seriously cannot wait. Im so so afraid of the what if's. I cant wait to see healthy hearts and brains!!

Well ladies, it seems that I can't catch a break. As soon as the girls and I get settled and worry free, life catches up to us. My most recent crapfest is that I have officially run out of FMLA time. Because of this, as of 12 pm today, I no longer have a job. I am currently working with an employment lawyer because my complications constitute a disability so I can file a claim under the ADA. My work has not made any reasonable accommodations, and has denied all requests that I've made without providing any kind of reason. Hopefully things will get better but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Good news is that the girls are still doing well and I'm 29 weeks tomorrow!!!

Hi all!

Sara, I hope you're doing well! Any updates on the cervix? Every day that passes is another day for babies to grow in you!

Furbaby, thank you! I love the grey/yellow combo too and that's what started me on the safari trek. I knew I wanted elephants and giraffes and since I'm praying babies are born after I hit the 37 week mark, they'll also be born in the year of the monkey! haha I initially thought I'd have one baby so I wanted to do a gender neutral room to be able to use it for the next baby too. Don't worry about the preparation. I think once you are set to do it, you'll get everything done! I've only purchased the plush animals from my concept board. I've yet to clear the room out. It's already grey in there so I'm just wondering if I want to change it to a different grey tone. So weird on the blood sugar levels. I hope it makes more sense and it doesn't go up! Yay for u/s appt next week! I have mine on the 24th! And oh my on the jabs and kicks! Hopefully they don't hurt as much and you can still enjoy baby move!

Reapage, it's so cool that you are also doing an elephant theme! I'm so excited to see progress on your nursery! Luckily for me, that heartburn session only lasted that day. I will not drink soda anymore! I wonder if it'll just come anyway when I hit 19 weeks. I'm not sure when my 20 week scan is because I have to call after 9/18 to make that appointment. I'm hoping once I make the appointment, it'll be soon!

AFM, nothing new. Some days I feel my bump has grown and then some day not. When I was 9 weeks and so bloated from the PIO, I was so sure I'd just pop very soon and just keep growing. I definitely have a bump now but it looks like a singleton bump haha. It does worry me every now and then because I wonder if they are growing adequately in me. I'll know if they are on track next week when I see my OB for our regular appointment :)

Oh my gosh Sara! That sucks! I hope that the lawyer can work something out. That is really unfair of your work place. It's clear you can't go to work, what do they want you to do, have the hospital bed right next to your desk? Ugh! Let the lawyer work something out and don't stress. Focus on baby and how they keep growing each day! :hugs:

Sara, hope they get it figured out.

Babyhopeful. I simply LOVE elephants! They are so darling and intelligent. I think my heart burn hit around 18w but got worse at 19, its only sporadic tho. Hopefully it doesn't become a constant thing. Exciting you have a scan on the 24th!!!! Cant wait to hear how it goes, next week should be eventful! I am positive your babies are growing just fine!!! are you feeling any movement? I felt quickening at 12 weeks... I think its because baby A has a posterior placenta, so I feel him all the time.

AFM, I found a wonderful hand made mobile today & ordered two, they will match each of the twins bedding. They actually hang from the ceiling and they are just too sweet, I know the will make the room pop. Now I just have to wait 4 days for my 20w scan, 2 weeks for the mobiles to be made, and 2 weeks for them to ship. My whole life is one big clock haha.
