Good morning!

Furbabymom, two showers is awesome, and I bet having this one a little more personal will be great!!! So glad the NST was well and you got to see your baby! Wow its getting so big! I cant wait to find out the gender!

My belly button popped out!!! So excited, it has been getting smaller for a while now, and finally yesterday, while sitting on the couch talking to my sister, I looked down to see something poking out of my shirt, and I lifted it to see my little outie! I think my bump, and all of these constant kicks and flutters are two of my fav things about pregnancy. I love it.

Hey there mamas! This board is a little easier for me to catch up with, because it tends to move a little slower. You'd think that would mean I could update more then, huh?

Sara - So glad that you got good news, and that you are almost 30 weeks! You look great! I'm sure you're sick of the hospital, but your little girls will thank you for it later. How are things going with the employment lawyer? I really hope they can get everything sorted out so that you have your job back after you have the girls.

Babyhopeful - How exciting that your anatomy scan is coming up! I really loved that one....but like Reapage (and now you) I was really nervous leading up to it. As far as my nursery, I don't really have a "theme" just colors. Most everything will be gray and white, but I'm throwing some navy blue in there. I've registered for a crib/bed skirt with a geometric pattern on it, the curtains are striped, and then I have a few little baskets/containers from ThirtyOne Gifts that are navy or gray with different patterns. So I guess my theme is "mismatched." lol

Furbabymom - I'm glad your scan went well and that the SCH is finally gone! You are getting so close! I can't remember if you said you are working right up until the baby comes or leaving a bit early. Since I'm due Jan 7th and we return from our Christmas break on the 4th, my plan is to not be back after the break. So my last day will be 12/23, unless something happens to take me out even earlier. I feel like these next 3 months are going to drag on like my first trimester did!

Reapage - I already commented on your scary few days on the ttc board, but I just now saw your pics. Your belly is adorable! Everything I read says that my belly button should be starting to pop out by now, but it's still there. I think it's because that's where my extra medication fat all was, so there's some cushion there still. It is definitely starting to change a bit though, so maybe it will just pop one day like yours. The first thing I noticed was the incision from my lap surgery when we first started with our RE, since it is so far into my bb that I can't usually see it. It actually made me cry to think of how much I've been through since then and that I've finally got this baby boy in me.

AFM....Nothing much going on here. I do have my next OB appt. on Monday, and she's scheduling my growth scans from there. She also mentioned NST's, but I'm not sure how soon that will be. My supervisor is already being really good about my appointments, and refused to sign the 1/2 day time off slip I submitted because I'm not leaving until 2:00. Our contract specifies that we can only take our time off in full or 1/2 days, but he has been very good to me over the past couple years with all of my appointments and let me combine the time I take off if I'm really only missing a couple hours. I sometimes worry that people will think something's going on between us because I get so many favors..lol...but he also knows I work my butt off there and he's afraid to make me unhappy and tempted to leave. Since this is my 10th year there and I can only use 6-8 weeks of my time (as paid time) during my leave I have tons of days that I've accrued, so it's not like I'll run out soon or anything. I guess it's just good to know that I'll have plenty of days saved for things related to this little one once I do go back after my leave.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Hi everyone! I'm still hanging in here at the hospital! We have made it to 30 weeks as of Thursday! After being told at 25 weeks we would be lucky to make it to 28, I feel so happy that we have made it this far.

In regards to the job stuff, we have a lawyer just waiting on them to get everything together. My boss said that the termination was officially processed as of last Friday. My work STILL hasn't actually told me I was officially fired which really makes me mad! I'm trying to take it all in stride and let the lawyer handle it so I don't go into labor!

My growth scan went really well. The girls are growing! Kari was estimated at 3 lb 5 oz and Leia was estimated at 3 lb 13 oz. Her head is taking up most of that weight as her ventricles are now over 30mm each. Her head is getting a lot bigger and is measuring at 36 weeks currently. The docs aren't worried, but are warning me that the bigger her head gets the more likely I am to go into labor naturally.

We are currently doing laundry in the Family Laundry Center here at the hospital! It's nice to get out of the room even if it is to do that!

I hope everyone has an amazing day!

Sara - Another great update! Just keep hanging in there!
Just to give you some more positive to consider....one of my friends at work is a twin (identical, but it doesn't really make a difference) and her and her sister were born at 32 weeks. My friend was just under 2 lbs when she was born, and her sister seemed to steal everything else and weighed almost 6 lbs. I can't remember how long she said she was in the hospital after birth, but she is now a healthy, beautiful and very intelligent 27-year-old....and that was a long time ago when there was less medical intervention available. I just know your girls are going to be strong and healthy too when they arrive. :)

Well ladies, things got real interesting this morning! Kari Elizabeth was born at 10:37am weighing in at 4lbs 5oz. Leia Alexis was born at 10:40am weighing in at 3lbs 12oz. They are both in the NICU. Kari is doing perfectly! She came out screaming and has been screaming at people since then (or so I was told). Leia is not breathing on her own but is doing well on the breathing tube. She will be seeing the neurologist today and will most likely get an MRI or cat scan done later this week to check on her ventricles. I'm doing really well, currently in recovery and can't feel my feet! I should have pics later today as soon as I'm allowed to go see them!

Revys - welcome back!!

Newbie - Welcome back to you too! Good luck on your GD test. I failed and have GD so know that even if it does not go well it will all be ok!!

Sara - still can't wait to see those girls!

Christine - I only get 6 weeks paid as well, unless I get a doctor's note saying I require more. I will see how it all pans out. Work has been so stressful lately I have begun to consider to ask her to write me a note getting me out sooner than later, but I don't really want to sit at home all day so I'll see how I feel in another week or so.

Reapage - Love the bump! I am actually terrified of my belly button popping - somehow I have made it 34 weeks with it staying as an innie and I'm keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way....I know it's a totally weird thing I have :D

AFM - have yet another NST tomorrow. I am planning on asking my OB on her updated opinion about any induction dates. I am having a really hard time with my sugar levels and just have this feeling that baby will be coming early....we will see.

Had a whirlwind of the past couple days! I'm doing really well, in quite a bit of pain but in very good hands. The girls are doing well, they've both started feedings of donor milk since I'm not producing any yet. They're gaining back the weight they lost after birth. Kari is on the cpap still but they're talking about taking it off soon. Leia is still on the ventilator until they decide if they're going to do the MRI on her head sooner than later. They can give her meds through it to help her sleep and stay still. They're both fighters and we know they're going to turn out amazing! Here are a couple of pics from today!
