Home Doppler! Am I crazy?

Postby jen78 » Tue May 03, 2011 8:14 am

I posted this in my dd boards but wanted to see what you ladies thought as well.

But I bought a ultrasonic home doppler and I recieved it on the day I turned seven weeks. I tried it out and couldnt find anything until I used the gel that it came with. When I used the gel My husband and I bought swear we found the heartbeat ( at seven weeks)It couldnt be mine right? Since it was way down near pubic area. Well I tried it again the next day and swear I found two this time however they were very close together so maybe it was the same baby right? Ok well today at 7 weeks five days I just did it again and it took a while to find it this time but I think I found two again on completely opposite sides. One way over on the right side was very strong then another way over on left and sounded like it was a bit distant so near the back. Do you think this is possible? Do you think I am really hearing the heartbeat or beats? I should also mention that when I ran it in the middle of the two there was silence. Anyone else have experiences with dopplers?

Ugh...i just lost my post. Anyway, my guys were clearly on different sides and it was always easy to differientiate them. However, I didn't hear them until I was just shy of 10 weeks. Mind you I was trying from 7 weeks on. Once you find the HB's its a VERY fast gallop sound.

Regardless, congratulations on your pregnancy and keep us posted!

Unless you run a high HB, it is almost certainly your hb.

dunno if this is late, but I heard my babys hb at about 7.5 weeks as well. It was VERY distinct and I heard arteries as well. Its a bit harder when it is that small to pinpoint but It can be done. Got my doppler from ebay and loved it my whole pregnancy. Congrats on your babies :)
