Recommended amount of water?

Postby ishouldhavebeenadoctor » Tue May 17, 2011 6:50 am

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone was told a specific amount of water to drink while pregnant with twins?

I'm 15 wks pregnant and felt horrible yesterday. I think it's because I let myself get dehydrated on Sunday. I woke up in the middle of the night Sunday with a migraine. I took some Tylenol and was able to fall back asleep but the migraine came back yesterday and I had to leave work early. I drank about 160 oz of water yesterday and feel better today.

Just wondering how much I should be drinking on a daily basis.

Thanks!

1 Gallon a day......yup, lol. I don't think I had many days I met the water criteria, but I tried. Stay hydrated!! Oh, and lots of protien is another huge must. I would drink one high protien boost a day on top of everything else.

Yeah, I drank a lot of water! I couldn't eat much of anything because the thought of food would make me feel full, but I made sure that water was a huge part of my pregnancy!

I drink it like it's my job :) I have a water bottle by my bed to so when I wake up I drink it.

How much protein is appropriate for twins? I'm currently 19 weeks and having a hard time consuming meat. I will eat it but only because I have to. I do eat alot of dairy, nuts and beans to get more. What type of protein boost is safe?

My doc said about 8-10 12 ounce bottles of water a day. It is hard, but I try. Sometimes I have to choose between water and food. I get too full.

seriously...as much as you can handle. Being hydrated will also prevent preterm contractions.

GOOD LUCK!

I think these ladies covered it, but I feel for ya. I got TERRIBLE hormone migraines with the twins, one of which put me in L&D. Water DEFINITELY helped!
