They are here!!!

Postby katieq » Thu May 26, 2011 11:40 am

Hi Everyone,

My twins made their early arrival yesterday at 5:53 and 5:54am!! I was 33 weeks and 5 days and both boys are still good size. Baby a is 5lbs 8oz and Baby B is 4lbs 12oz. I am over the moon in love with them!!! They are in NICU but doing great...few feeding problems but that is all. No word on release yet.

Labor came on very suddenly around 11pm tuesday night. Water started leaking heavy and contractions came an hour later. There was an obvious break of water around 2:45am and I woke DH and called my Mom. Things then moved very quickly. Got to hospital and contractions were 3 min apart so they got me to surgery prep asap. C-section went well and am recovering nicely so far. Am sooooo happy right now and hoping to keep this feeling and escape baby blues!

congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those are great sizes for 33w5d! Just about the sizes of my twins at 34w :)
Here's hoping for a short NICU stay! Addison was able to go home with me when I was discharged and Caleb was able to go home the following week, only because he had a small issue with his circumcision. And mine were only in the NICU for the same reasons, feedings, they just wanted to make sure they were continually eating enough.

So it's possible that yours could go home soon too :)

Can't wait to see spam!!!!!

Congrats again!!!

Thanks so much everyone! And we finally have names today....Brady Patrick and Rowan Thomas. Our DS chose Rowan and we loved it! Right now he refuses to call Brady anything but "Baby sweetie." He LOVES being a big brother.

Am encouraged by how soon your little ones got out of NICU macksmom! Am hoping our stay is short too. I remember when you had yours and feeling like I had just a few more weeks so MominMD you are on deck!! I do really feel like all the bedrest I did kept them in those few critical extra weeks so take care of yourself!

Will get pics up soon!! Oh, and there is a chance they are identical. They look quite alike and have same blood type. Am so curious!

Great names and SO glad your DS is enjoying being a big brother. Will the hospital be doing an identical test for you or will you have to do that yourself?

Rest up! Stalking for pics ;) hehe
