Postby GreekMythFreak » Wed Mar 21, 2012 4:48 pm

Gear, Etc. (need 3 for Triplets)

1 Double stroller/ Triple Stroller
1 Maternity Pillow *highly recommended
2 Carseats
2 Child Wearing Carriers
2 Cribs –Will need eventually if not at first
2 High Chairs/ 3-Stage Booster Seats
2 Pack-N-Plays
2 Boppies
1-2 Bassinets (depending on preference)
1-2 Changing Tables (depending on preference)
1 Bath Tub
1 Activity Mat
1 Diaper Bag – make sure it’s large enough for two tho
2 Bumbos – If you buy
2 Bath Seats – If you buy *highly recommended
1 Tandem Nursing Pillow – If you plan on BFing *highly recommended
Swings – Baby Preference (some by 1, some buy 2) *Recommended 1 to Start
Bouncers – Baby Preference (some by 1, some buy 2) *Recommended 1 to Start
Exersaucers – Baby Preference (some by 1, some buy 2) *Recommended 1 to Start
Jumper – Baby Preference (some by 1, some buy 2) *Recommended 1 to Start

Basic Amounts: 12 bottles per day, 20 diapers per day, and two boxes of formula per week (in the beginning)

**It’s really just what works best for you and your babies. In the beginning, you could just get one of things until you figure out what you need another of. 2 of everything gets greater the older they get**

A great resource: http://www.babybargains.com/twins

Comfy/ Stretchy Pants
2-3 nursing Tanks/ Bra
Robe/ Nightgown

Big Comfy Socks/Slippers
2-3 Underwear (oversize undies/ granny panties)
**Mesh Panties provided by the hospital are awesome as well
Pads for Underwear (PP Bleeding c-section or not)
Shampoo/Conditioner/Mousse
Hairbrush
Toothpaste/ Toothbrush
Deodorant
Body Wash
Medications (If needed)
Hair Ties
Contact Solution/ Glasses (if needed)

Caps (hats)
Baby wipes (sometimes hospital supplies)

This is great. Awesome idea!!!!

I would add snacks to the hospital bag. Even if you can't eat your DP/DH/SO will want snacks and drinks. Don't rely on snack machines/cafeteria. We had issues with incorrect change/machines not working.

We did have two bouncy seats early on, and could not imagine living without them. Now we use 1 exersaucer and 1 jumperoo. This way they can switch. I find having variety helps. When they get tired in one place move them somewhere new. At 8 months they rotate between those two things and the floor.

Also, particularly with the big plastic items like the jumperoos and exersaucers, you can buy them used or borrow them. If you get them off Craiglist or a thrift store you can clean them very thoroughly and wash the seat in the washing machine. We have a parents listserv in my town and these get loaned out while parents are not using them, and returned after. They are expensive lumps of plastic, no need to buy new if you do not have to.

You don't need one the hospital provides you with a better one ;) hehe. I actually ended up renting theirs with the twins cuz it worked better and faster!

How long do you think the 20 diapers a day lasted? I think I was grossly underestimating the amount of diapers and such we would need!! AH!

I have never really counted the diapers per day, but I can tell you at 22m we go through 172 in 2 weeks - so that's 6ea. a day.

Well, we were doing Diapers.com because they had a great program but they just discontinued it, so I am thinking about switching to Amazon. We had a diaper party/ BBQ for the twins so really, we didn't by any diapers until they were 6m old, which was AWESOME!!!!!

Any recommendations on a rocker big enough to nurse/hold twins? I was thinking a wide recliner might work best but I'm not sure.
Nearly 5 years TTC#1
IVF #1 June 2013, Long lupron, follistim/menopur, 11x5-day blasts, freeze all due to OHSS
8/23/13 FET 3x5-day blasts transferred, BFP 6dp5dt, betas 380 @ 10dp5dt, 810 @ 12dp5dt, 38,185 @ 22dp5dt, U/S 9/26 Twins!
B/G twins arrived at 34w+3d, spent 13 & 21 d in NICU
