Sickness coming and going?!

Postby Bailierae » Sun Jun 23, 2013 10:56 am

I was pretty sick last week and it seems that since yesterday I haven't felt very sick. I get the occasional gagging but that's it. I have an ultrasound on Tuesday and ill be 6 weeks 5 days. Did anyones sickness come and go in twin pregnancy and at around this time? I have noticed that in the last two days ive gotten a belly ache and (TMI) had diarrhea, dont know of my symptoms are switching. I thought I'd continue to be sick with a twin pregnancy since symptoms are supposed to be heightened. Ugh the worries, do you think I should call my doctor and see if they could get me in tomorrow instead? Thanks in advance, I think I'm just scared with my previous losses.

I never actually threw up but my nausea came and went (and didn't really set in until 7 or 8 weeks). And my sore boobs came and went too. I was constantly feeling myself up worrying when they weren't sore. But everything was fine. :)

With my twin pregnancy my nausea lasted until about 12 weeks and then went away until the 3rd tri. With my singleton I had nausea the entire pregnancy. It's different for everyone, don't be afraid to ask your doc for help. It does go back and forth for many women, just make sure to never have an empty stomach is what I was told ;)

My symptoms fluctuated and changed throughout the first tri...well, the whole pregnancy really. I was pretty nauseated until 12 weeks - never actually got sick, but sure felt like I would. They can come and go, especially early on as all those hormones start going up and your body gets used to them. You can always call your doc for reassurance, but know that it's not unusual at all. I remember being really nervous like you are because of my previous losses. I had a hard time relaxing and believing in the pregnancy until I reached viability and even then I was still nervous. That's normal too. I think most pregnant women feel that way, but especially those who have had losses.

My morning sickness started early, before 6 weeks if I remember correctly. I had good days and bad days. At first I was just nauseated. I couldn't handle certain smells. Sucking on Jolly Ranchers helped, as did eating more protein. Then it got worse at 10 weeks, where I was throwing up every morning and then stuck in bed all day with awful nausea. At that point I went on Zofran and stayed on it until I was 18 weeks.

Honestly, every pregnancy is different and symptoms will come and go. Hopefully everything is just fine.

Thanks for all your replies, I really appreciate it. It seems I feel ok on the weekends and then once the weekdays start I get sick, so weird... I wonder if its in my head. I have an appt tomorrow, so I pray everything is well and babies are growing like they should. Jeez time goes so slow when you have something to look forward to!

Just got back from my ultrasound! So thankful that everything went well.

Baby A measured 7w2d with a heartbeat of 146
Baby B measured 7w1d with a heartbeat of 130

So relieved that they are growing and healthy. Nothing beats hearing their heartbeats, it was music to my ears!! Thanks for all your support!!
