Breathing is overrated!

Postby megan6912 » Wed Jul 31, 2013 5:22 pm

Breathing? Who needs to breath?! Apparently not me. I have two heads in my lungs and it's making things very hard. I feel like I'm always gasping for air. Looking forward to the babies dropping so I can get some air in my lungs.

I hear ya! I remember getting out of breath just sitting down talking. Ah the joys of twin pregnancy!

I had to be put on oxygen post c-section. I hadn't been able to take a proper deep breath in months.

Oh, I feel for you! I felt the same way! I remember pushing down on my belly with my hands just to get a breath with both pregnancies. With this one having twins I just kept waiting for them to drop so I could breathe and they never did. Oddly enough, during the actual c-section procedure I felt a big weight being lifted off me as they took out each baby and I took a big breath each time -very weird feeling.

Yes, overrated. The other day I found myself out of breath just talking to my mother on the phone. For me it depends a lot on the babies' position - sounds like for you with them both head up it's even worse! Is there any position that gives you more relief?

I actually got sent to my PCP with shortness of breath and ended up having an EKG and echocardiogram (u/s of the heart) to make sure it was pregnancy related and not something else. It was crazy bad from about 20 weeks on for me. It was really bad to feel like I couldn't catch my breath because it felt similar to the anxiety attacks I'd been having during IF treatments. Ugh. It was gone immediately upon giving birth though, as was my ridiculous rib pain!
