My Boys Turn 5 today!

Postby JADE0199 » Wed Sep 25, 2013 7:11 am

Just wanted to share with you twin mammas and twin-moms-to-be that our identical twin boys are turning 5 years old today! How the time has flown and what an amazing journey it has been.

I can't believe 5 years ago today I gave birth to my first two children, identical twin boys Christian and Peter. TTTS Survivors diagnosed with Stage I at 22 weeks devastated us. But a miracle happened yet again and it reversed itself by Baby A, who was the recipient baby, by raising his blood pressure sending more blood to his twin brother. We are so ultimately blessed to have them in our lives and to be able to see them grow up into maturing little boys. They have come a long way since 2008. From taking their first steps and saying their first words to completing PreK3, PreK4 and now in Kindergarten....and even reading! We couldn't be any more prouder.

Happy 5th Birthday boys!! We love you so very much!

thanks so much ladies! :D it really means a lot to me that you took the time to write. so many lookers but no one has the 30 seconds it takes to say Happy Birthday these days. :|

babydust -  I admit, I am guilty of keeping the FET a secret. I just figure why bother telling anyone while I'm going through it, incase it doesn't work, then I just move on. I did announce my BFP @ 12dpo but only on the first trimester forum at the time. DH and I were deep into the process of getting ready to donate our snowbabies and it started to get really complicated. The kids are just so good with Christiana and Pierson, we just thought, maybe we should just give one more a chance. we were set on only transferring one and couldn't risk twins again. unfortunately, we had to thaw two just to get one and we transferred one 2AA blast that thawed 95%. :D got my :bfp: @ 12dpo but it was light and we were very guarded. cautiously optimistic so to speak. betas were doubling well 59 @ 14dpo, 127 @ 16dpo then 940 @ 21dpo. We had our first u/s last Monday. One Baby! measuring ontime 6w4d :hb: 123bpm.

We're excited to be expecting #6. Not sure how i'm gonna do it, just gonna have to figure out a way I guess.

I understand your reasons for keeping things under wraps but congrats! I can't imagine the thought process those of you with snowbabies have to make on what to do with those embryos. 6 kids is a lot, but really, you've got 5 - what's one more right? I hope everything goes well!

We have 2 snowbabies left and have already decided we will transfer them one at a time in a few years. I can't imagine donating them. They are already my babies as far as I'm concerned. And like Cassidy said...once you have 5...what's 1 more!

Congrats again! Very exciting!

Thanks Mommy! Its nice hearing someone say things that I can relate too. we feel the same way, we feel like the snowbabies are our children. I can't imagine not having any one of our children in our lives. Christiana and Pierson were our first successful FETs and I can't imagine life without them. Its nice hearing someone else who 'get's it'. I think that's great that you have already decided to give those embryos a chance at life and to be a part of your family.

Thanks Erin! Happy birthday to your little man! its so true. they grow up so much each year, the transformation is amazing. It was an emotional birthday for me too, remembering them how they were when they were just 2-3 years old to how mature they are at 5 now. I cried at how fast they are growing up.

I didn't even see that you were pregnant when I posted. Congrats!!! And I can understand the frozen emotional complication. I was so scared to have to make the choice of what to do with frozen eggs if I had any. I'm like y'all. They are my children. I was fortunate that God made that decision for me and we only had two left which are my beautiful twins :) I love that you have so many kids. We want more but the money factor is an issue with us and I just can't figure out how to make it happen, so much respect to you for being able to.... Please share if you have any helpful tips :)
