Congrats again 1sttime!

Jme, I haven't ever heard of this forever seat. But with the points you've made, I don't think I'll be too interested. I like the idea of taking them out of the car and clicking them into a stoller. It would be nice to save a lil money but I would think easy access beats the all in one seat, especially with two.

Congratulations Navy!! They are so beautiful :hb: :hb: I hope your NICU time is almost over, and you can get both little sweeties to yourself soon.

1sttimemommy - congratulations! So exciting :)

As for the car seats. We do use an infant bucket seat, then progress to an extended rear facing seat at about 1 year, BUT I very rarely take them out of the car in the seat. Only for something that will take less than 5 minutes, like dropping the kids at school. Firstly, because those things are the devil to lift, secondly because it is not a good idea to let them sleep in those for too long, because it can case apnoea issues. With that kind of stroller they can end up in their car seats almost all day if you go out somewhere. I'm not comfortable with that, so they will be transferred to a normal stroller when we leave the car.

Navy! They are beautiful! And, good weights, too! I can't remember how many weeks you were. Congrats! I think you should have someone video your hubby's reaction when he comes home to meet those girls. Too awesome!

Yeah, I'm thinking I will go with an infant seat and then get this new "forever" car seat for after they are too heavy to lift in the car seat. The forever car seat goes from 4 lbs on up, and it will tilt back like an infant seat (rear facing, etc.), so as soon as I don't think I want them in the infant seat anymore, I can transition over.

:)

I'm feeling new crampy feelings this week (15 weeks). I'm assuming it's my uterus stretching or something? It's just a dull cramping that comes and goes even if I'm just laying there. Hard to explain because it feels deep and far back.

CONGRATS NAVY!!!! Your girls are just beautiful:):) - so glad that everything went smoothly. THey are such a great size, how wonderful!!! Is Tyra going to be out of the NICU soon??? So awesome that you have your beautiful babes:):), and I can't wait to hear how your husband reacts when he meets his beautiful girls:):):). Man I hope I make it to 36 weeks!!!! I have to work until 36 weeks, so here's hoping I hold out that long. How are things going with feeding the babies? Are you breast feeding? I am so nervous about that! I hope I can get the hang of it without too much trouble, but with twins I imagine it is way tougher!

Congrats and welcome to amazinglyamy and 1sttimemom!!! Yay for more twin mommas:):):) So exciting, we are thrilled to have you join our group:). I also have a facebook page going, so if you are interested just post your email and we can get you on there too:)

I am doing the babytrend snap and go stroller, with my son having the infant car seat was a life saver - that way when he was sleeping I didnt have to wake him up to get him out of the car. PLus the snap and go strollers that you put the infant car seats in are SO light that they are so much easier to get around with. I never had trouble with my son using the infant car seats in the stroller.... he is healthy and never had any apnea or anything - so if you like the idea of not having to take baby out of car seat and strap in stroller and vice versa when going back to the car I would recommend doing the infant car seat!! PLus - when baby is sleeping, it is beautiful, and i never want to wake up sleeping baby if i dont have to!!!

Hope you are all doing well!!!

Thank you ladies! The dr. told me they were fraternal but how can they be identical with separate everything? It would be neat to have identical twins too :-D

To the best of my knowledge, the kind of identical twins that have two separate sacs are ones that split before three days old. My two embryos from IVF were implanted at three days old and no one mentioned them splitting at that point, so I'm assuming I have fraternal as well. :)

fraternals have a 33% chance of being identical if they are the same sex (obviously lol)

* If the egg splits 3 days or earlier they will form there own sacs and placentas know as DI/DI (Diamniotic/Dichorionic or fraternal - safest kind of twins)

*if it splits on day 4 - 8 they are MO/DI Monochorionic/Diamniotic (one placenta separate sacs - higher risk)

* If it splits 8-13 days they are MO/MO monochorionic/MonoAmniotic (one placenta and one sac - the riskiest type of twins!)

*if it splits after 13 days - conjoined twins!

This might help a bit more:

Hey ladies,

Unfortunately, one of my babies has vanished so I am no longer expecting multiples. One of the amazing things about IVF is that we get early u/s and get to see our embryos so much earlier. One of the unfortunate aspects of this is that we sometimes get to see things that end up not being there on the next u/s, that other women would have no idea about. It looks like it stopped growing around 7weeks 5 days, so a week after my first u/s.

Baby A is doing well, measuring right on target at 8weeks5days (yesterday) with a 163 heartbeat and for that we are so grateful.

Baby B  we are so happy we got to know about you even for the short time we did. Your little heartbeat flickering away gave us so much joy.
