Hey Shellie - congrats on the twins and welcome to our little thread. It is really nice to have others going through the same thing. Were your betas really high? And was that why you were suspecting twins? Or did you just KNOW like Navy did? I personally hoped for twins, but was unsure that I would get them, since I had very few symptoms.

My OB was not very helpful in the matter of supplements and only had me on prenatal and folic acid. I did some research and read Dr Luke's "when you are expecting twins, multiples or quads" and came up with my own little "pharmacy" (which was ok'ed by my OB of cause). Since I cannot swallow big pills, here is what I ended up with:

- gummy prenatal s with DHA
- chewable vit D (2000 IU)
- small iron (65mg)
- small folic acid (1mg)
- Calcium (666mg), Magnesium (266mg) and Zinc(10mg) GIANT pill that I grind up and mix with yogurt.

I wish I could take additional DHA, but instead I just eat lots of fish! I even eat sushi (mostly salmon) once or twice a week. My biggest problem in pregnancy has probably been constipation and getting plenty of magnesium definitely helps that. When we travel I normally don't bring my big CA/Mg/Zn pill, because I use mortar and pestel to grind it - consequently I always get constipated...

Navy - yay for kicks!!!! Isn't that just amazing?? Do you know the positions of your little ones? I can already feel a big difference in their movement patterns. My boy, who is on the right, is a crazy kicker and extremely active, he also enjoys punching my lower parts.. Girl, on left side, is more of a roller and likes to be as far out to the side as possible. Watching them create valleys and hills on my belly gives me endless entertainment..

Momma - you are going to need that list of names before you know it! I love Vivienne and Desmond. Sorry you had to work. What do you do, if you don't mind me asking?

Alivia - I think that was pretty creative of your mom. I bet you never met anybody with your name!! We actually did some rethinking of names on our 4th July road trip, so again we are without names.

Tomorrow is another appointment with my high risk Dr, so we are excited to see how big the babies have gotten. A month ago they were each a lb. Anyway, I hope you ladies are feeling good and that all is going well.

Take care

Wow you ladies are on a whole bunch of stuff lol.... I wouldnt be able to keep up. I am just on an amazing prenatal called Prenate Enhance with 400 mg DHA and advanced Calcium, and then an extra 800 mcg of Folic acid. I am very carefeul when it comes to overloading of vitamins and supplements due to risk of birth defects with too much of certain things. I seem to be on the right stuff tho so I will stick to this. Only complaint is my hair and nails are now brittle and dull but they say thats cause Girls just suck the life out of you lol...... They are gonna be some beautiful babies if this is the case hahaha. Now as for skin care I am using Palmers tummy butter, Coconut oil and Vitamin E oil on my tummy, thighs, breasts and pretty much everywhere lol. Gotta keep this skin hydrated and oiled to hopefully retain elastisity. Trying to avoid the dredded stretch marks and "Twin Skin"

Hello Shellsbells! Nice to meet you, and congrats on your twins! It's such an amazing feeling, right???

So, I am feeling very guilty because I have been so nauseas and sick there have been days that I can't even swallow my prenatal pills at all!! I never skipped when I was pregnant with my son, but this time around I am so sick at night that I can't usually keep anything down. I've started to chew my gummy prenatal vitamins that I was using before I got pregnant from Target, so I hope they are okay. I'm sure it's better than nothing! Can't wait for this sickness to go away!

I have 3 more weeks to find out the genders and I am going MAD! I can't wait to find out. It's a lot of fun to see what you are all having! I really don't have any "feelings" as to what they may be--I will probably be shocked either way--but, not quite as shocked if they are boys, as I already have one boy.

Navy--that is amazing that you are feeling kicks! That's the best part, and I can't imagine what it must feel like with twins!

Momma-I think you have a good set of names going on! I really like the nickname "Vivi" for a girl--it's one of a few that we are considering too! Can't wait to hear what you decide on! When are you finding out genders?

funobulaks - I was on my final round of clomid and i had 3 days of blazing opks! Clear BFP was at 8dpo. They don't do beta's here in the uk unless there is a absolute reason to. So all that together i just had a hunch there would be twins in there :)

sugarplum - it is an amazing feeling, i was just so happy to see a heartbeat and when she found the second one we were just elated - and DH totally shocked! lol

navy congrats on feeling your girls kick for the first time - that must be amazing :)

Got to ring my midwife today and inform her there is two lol

wow BFP at 8do thats amazing. I had to wait till 10dpo when I got my first faint positive cause I took HCG shot to make me ovulate on day of IUI. But I had pregnancy confirmed at 11dpo. :) Then of course just kept testing cause i had extra sticks and I loved seeing the positive outcome. My favorite it the clear blue digital with weeks estimator. :) I finally took the time to edit my signature on here with all my info lol. I had to go through some old texts and messages to get all of it but pretty sure thats all accurate. We found our twins pretty early on since I got huge cysts from all the leftover follicles that never produced eggs. It was so very painful but I got through it after 6 weeks of dissability lol. honestly cant wait to go on maternity leave so I can just focus on my health and the health of our babies instead of the constant stress from work.

I did my digi at 12dpo and got 2-3 on it lol that also roused my suspicion of more than one! lol

I can't wait to see them again and actually get to look at them properly rather than just viability scanning. Says in my notes, no free fluid, no cysts and CL on the left ovary (which i knew by the pain it gave me!) I wonder if it's possible if i ovulated 2 eggs would i have 2 CL's? or would one of them dominate and the other dye off? Just wondering if there is a chance my Di/Di twins could be identical? off to dr google lol

Midwife appointment moved to 21st july now so i will see her before i have my second scan.

Chances of Di/Di twins being identical is 25% and obviously only if same sex. You can't find out for sure till a blood test is done and that's usually at birth and only if requested. I will be requesting it for my girls :)

I got my BFP at 8 dpo too! It was faint, so the next day I took the digital to confirm. I guess those twins wanted us to know they were there!

You all got your BFP early! No wonder twins were on your mind. I tested BFN 10dpo in the morning and then went in for my beta, thinking that we were probably out. To my surprise, I had a beta of 19. The rest is history!

Ya I got a few early positives too but like I said I took a HCG Trigger shot and that can give false positives if it isnt completely out of your system. So I had to wait till at least 11 dpo before i felt at ease :) And it was confirmed :) Yay!!! my HCG level started off pretty high and doubled rapidly but sice we saw the 2 sacs so early i only had them draw twice lol. Cause after that my little beans were visible :) I love my little girls

Yeah, my HCG numbers were higher than they were when I was pregnant with my son. Plus, right before I ovulated, I had two large follicles, so I knew there was a chance.

We didn't see two sacs right away though--just one. The doctor who did the scan was fast, and didn't really try to look for another one though, and I'm thinking that because I have a tilted uterus maybe the other twin was just hidden. My husband was actually the one who noticed the second baby at the next ultrasound at 7 weeks. I sometimes think, what if he didn't point that out? Crazy!

Then at the 6 week he was able to be there and we saw them clear as day :) We both teared up :) It was such an amazing experience. My Twins have always been right next to each other. I did have small amount of blood at some point, maybe a month or so ago. It was never a whole lot, but lasted about a week. I think sinus changes and nosebleed are common in pregnancies, but if you are worried, check with your OB. I have called them several times with questions.
