Just curious if your docs had you taking anything besides a regular prenatal? I've read a lot about taking additional folic acid, but my doc said a prenatal was good enough.

I was on 75mg of aspirin to help keep pre-eclampsia and blood clots at bay, extra calcium supplements and vitamin D plus the ordinary prenatal that i had to take all the way through.

I also take folic acid, that's what my doc recommends to me. But if he says your prenatal is enough folic acid might be included?

He didn't tell me what prenatal to take. I've just been taking whatever. I went to Walgreens yesterday and started really reading the back of the boxes to find the one with the most folic acid and iron. I'm wondering if I need to add calcium.

I was given a RX for folic acid in addition to my prenatal vitamin. That was prescribed by my fertility specialist who I was seeing when I got pregnant. I meet with my new ob/gyn the first time this week and I hope what I am taking is fine. I will need to add extra Vitamin D because I am deficient but not sure how he is going to handle that (another RX or OTC).
