Already worrying and this test isn't helping!

Postby Flybutter » Wed Jun 08, 2016 11:18 am

So I found out only 2 days ago that we are expecting. We had a miscarriage at 8 weeks in September. I was thrilled at first but then took another test after that first initial positive the next morning and it was fainter. I bought a digital and it said Pregnant 1-2 weeks. Now I know that should actually be interpreted as 2-3 weeks, but that is still not correct. I am 5w2d out from first day of lmp. I am waiting to get beta results so I will be worrying until next week at the very least. I just know this means my levels are low. :(

Hey (Phder here from TTC boards).. I know it is tempting to test but honestly try to resist the urge to test. Pregnancy tests can be so influenced by very many factors and so can hCG levels across pregnancies too

What has helped me after loss is to think that fate is set. That the course of the future and pregnancy is predetermined and we can control what is within our "circle of influence" (e.g. looking after ourselves, getting regular check ups and tests etc) but we cannot control everything. Worry rarely solves a problem in itself.

Try as much as you can to focus on good self care strategies. Take a gentle walk, meet friends for coffee (decaff if you like). Distraction might be a useful technique atm or just trying to share your experience with friends. This forum is great for support as usually someone has experienced something similar or can somehow relate to your experiences.

Hope you are doing OK today and I do wish the very best for the up and coming weeks and that they pass without event and that this is your little rainbow x

Aww, thanks PhD, that makes me feel better. And I was telling my hubby the same thing the other day, that it is out of our control, so there's no sense in worrying so much. I've just been trying to eat better, drink lots of water, and get a lot of rest. With my fall mc I was working in a super fast-paced, high-stress job and I think that contributed to the loss we experienced.

I did do another digital tonight with no hold (2 days after the first one that said 1-2) and this one read 2-3. That is really comforting to me.
