My doctor has advised us to wait 2 cycles after my mmc ay 9wks (baby died 6wks). I have read where many woman don't wait and was wondering how their doctors reacted. I am worried that if I became pregnant again right away doc will be mad, possibly compromise treatment since I didnt follow his directions, and if I mc again that I would get the "I told you so"lecture and attitude.
Please tell me how yor doctor reacted.

First off, I am so sorry for your loss, I have been there twice and know the pain of losing as well. My last m/c i guess was classified as a chemical,
i m/c about 5-6 weeks too, and got pg 2 weeks later, no AF between, Honestly I had a doctor who was NOT supportive, so I ditched that barbie bitch for another doctor who has been wonderful. With a natural m/c, it really isnt necessary to wait (doctors mostly want you to wait for dating purposes), I have done so much research and really there is no conclusive reason that you have to wait unless you feel you need to or have had an D&C. I personally feel that this preg worked because i was preg right before, like it prepped my body for it, and I dont regret for a second trying right away because if what I have now. as long as your beta returns to zero, BD away. as you can see, it worked well for me, and I know I am one of many on this board. Good luck hun

I'm so sorry for your loss.

The first time I m/c (6wks) my dr wanted us to wait one cycle before trying again. I think this was mainly because they need to know when your last AF was so they can use that for dating purposes.

The second time I m/c (5wks) my dr wanted us to wait 3 months before trying again. I thought this was much too long and I was emotionally ready to try again after one cycle. So, we tried and got pg with this pregnancy now. I was afraid my dr would be upset with us (she can be very bitchy towards me at times) but, she actually didn't mention or ask why we didn't wait and I wasn't going to offer any info unless absolutely necessary. I think if you feel up to it, it's alright to give it a go. I'm glad I waited a cycle though to make sure my body was back to "normal" and everything was working properly.

I would like to piggy back on this message if y'all don't mind b/c I have a question that I don't know the answer to.

I m/c 14 days ago. One of my early preg. sxs is very early lactation. I've been dry since before the m/c. Last night, I literally sprayed the br mirror with colostrum and my belly has been fluttering which is another early sxs for me. I haven't had my 1st cycle yet so I have no idea if or when I O'd and my Hcg levels have not returned to zero yet so I don't know if this is from my m/c or if I'm preg. again. I m/c naturally so I am not worried about getting preg. I just don't know how to test. I'm going in for my hcg bloodwork tomorrow but I want to know now.

Any ideas?? Thanks ladies.

I agree bloodwork is your best bet. The flutters where my 1st symptom too. Alothough one beta isnt the best indicator of pregnancy, it will give you an idea if ifts leftover or new...KUP

And yes, to answer your question, by the time I started bleeding my Beta was 21, then down to zero 3 days later, so it was pretty quick, though I bled for about 10 days straight. But I think I even got preg again when I was still bleeding....

Just got back from seeing my doctor and telling her i am pregnant right after my m/c and i didn't wait a cycle. I am still really scared but my doctor said not to worry and she increased my folic acid but she wasn't upset and didn't lecture me, she does want me to go for an early u/s to date it. wish me luck this time.

As most know my story, I had d&c for mm/c on 7/10/2009 at 10.5 weeks pg and got a bfp on 8/10/2009. My doc told me there is no research, not even w/ d&cs to wait. He said dating purpose is important. Also, he said if he had to do an invasive scrape on d&c were the baby and sac are still attached really good to the uterus than his answer might be different. He said your body gets pg when its ready. So, he told us not to prevent first month, then actively start ttc after 1st period. Well, I got pg right away and so I guess we will see.

So, to answer your question, I think you are fine. I am taking prometerium, baby aspirin, b6, extra folic acid, and my prenatals.

We also had an early m/c last month and got pregnant 2 weeks later with this pregnancy. We are just about 5 weeks now.
Our doc was not surprised and is supportive.
