Anyone been pregnant without waiting a full cycle?

Postby SongBelle » Tue Sep 07, 2010 10:44 am

This may not be the right place for this question, and I apologize if that's the case. It seemed the most logical.

I miscarried on Aug. 2nd, and our doctor told us it was fine to TTC again after a full cycle. Well, right now I'm in the TWW, testing in 5 days. Anyone else had a pregnancy after a loss without waiting a full cycle? What happened? Thanks in advance!!

ME! I had a d and c on Feb 21st (after a mm/c at 9 weeks.) I felt like I was ready to ttc immediately so I took a few opk's and had a positive on March 15th. I got my bfp 2 weeks later (about 5 weeks after my d and c and before I got my period.) I'm 27 weeks pg now and expecting our baby boy on December 1st.
I admit that I was FREAKED out that I got pg so soon, but my dr assured me that there was no extra risk to getting pregnant right away. She said that "your body gets pregnant when it's ready."
I hope this helps! Good Luck.

Thank you SO MUCH for your reply. That makes me feel better, even if it turns out I'm not pregnant in a few days. Congratulations on your little boy!

I also never waited a full cycle. I had a missed miscarriage at 8.5 weeks. Bleed for 7 days and got positive OPK 6 days later and a positive pregnancy test 13 days following m/c. I am having twin girls Nov 2, 2010. Best of luck with you.
If you feel ready..then go ahead! Good luck.

Late post but we didn't wait either...

I had a BFP 10/17/10...then chemical m/c on 10/20 which I bled like a normal AF.
I O'd 13 days later (11/2) and got a BFP 11/17. Now it's the wait game, but definitely sticky so far.

Okay, well this all sounds positive to me and makes me feel much better about ttc right away. We were 9wks 4days yesterday when u/s determined that our baby passed at 7wks. I was so sad for like all day yesterday and today, because my body hasn't passed the baby yet at all. D/C scheduled for Friday and my OB said we can try again within the next 4-6wks. But to hear that what you guys confirmed for me, after reading multiple posts of women getting pregnant right after a miscarriage (including my mother who got pregnant right away with my sister after a m/c), that it IS possible to get pregnant and everything be just fine, right after. I have gotten used to the thought of being pregnant, now for 9wks, that I don't want to give up on the thought of being pregnant now... I'm confident that we will have our 2011 baby before year end... and want to try right away. I just bought OPK test kit and HPT's so that we can try again in a few weeks. I just found on americanpregnancy.com that you will typically ovulate 2-4wks after a m/c, whether by d/c or spontaneously. I want to be sure that when I ovulate, we will be trying during that 3-4day period, like we did back in December. Back in November, we really weren't trying or preventing and didn't get pregnant, but when AF started, I really was determined to begin charting. So We were actually charting and everything in December and got pregnant the 1st try. I was so thrilled... but so bumbed that our baby didn't make it past 1st trimester.

I am hopefully that the next bean sticks and we can go on to have a healthy & happy 9mo's... I'm just glad, after hearing your stories, that it really is possible to conceive w/o getting past your first real cycle.... It's evident now that while m/c and bleeding, the body does actually take that as a cycle... and I didn't know THAT until today either...

Chareese: So sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you get pregnant again right away. I got pregnant the second cycle after my miscarriage. But I did not have my first cycle until 2.5 months after my MC. Sometimes it can take the body awhile to adjust back to normal. I hope you don't have to wait as long as I did.

I am also sorry for your loss. I had a m/c in June. Had a dc June 16th. From what I remember I ovulated 3 weeks 4 days later. I was only using opks because I'm horrible at temping. I had read so many conflicting stories about trying again right away that it was my understanding that God wouldn't give me more then I could handle. My mom kept saying that to me like it was a broken record! We went for it and here we are. A m/c takes your innosense away, but you can do it! You continue to keep your head up and know that it's all possible. I hope you get your bfp soon! :hugs:

Thanks so much ladies... I am trying to stay prayerful and optimistic. I'm not going to lie, this was more devastating than I thought! I had m/c before, but like it was so early I didn't have a chance to get attached to the thought of having a baby. This time, though, at 9w 4 days to find that the baby stopped growing at 7wks, is just... sad. My body hadn't naturally passed the baby, and I think that's what's messing with my head.

But I asked DH if he wanted to try again and if we could right away and he said absolutely. So I'm hoping it doesn't take us longer than a month or 2 do get pregnant again. Although I fully understand that my body will get pregnant when it's ready, I know this is in God's time too... I just hope its in the cards for us to make it happen again. I'm hoping it happens, naturally, fast.

had d/c on Friday and i'm definitey feeling very AF-like,.... cramping, bleeding... but I'm glad we have closure. I bought a box of 20 OPK's this past weekend and a box of digi HPT's. We're going to try in 2wks. My follow up appt w/my OB is next Friday, Mar 4. He said after this appt, we can resume regular activity like working out together and sex. So that's the plan.... We're not going to ttc so actively like last time, but will do like every other day the week after next week and see what happens. I want to take the stress out of it... it's funny, though... hormones are raging right now and we want to like now... but we know we have to wait....

Thanks for your support and stories via my inbox... it definitely gives me a hopeful outlook and I cannot wait to report back to you all on the next pregnancy. You've been very supportive and I DO appreciate it! Hoping it happens between now and 4wks from now :)
