Pregnant Again after a stillbirth.. *NERVOUS*

Postby trevorsmommy2 » Thu Jul 21, 2011 3:48 pm

Hi everyone..
So Im here after delivering my son stillborn at 39 weeks back on March 11th. It was due to umbilical cord wrapped very very tight around his neck and everything else was normal. THe placenta and cord looked fine and no chromisome abnormalities..

Even though I know that it was such a rare occurance I'm so nervous already. I'm trying to relax and make sure I enjoy the pregnancy.. which I think I will be until I start feeling baby kick and then will freak out every time I DON"T feel him/her kick.

Ok.. just needed to vent.

It's totally normal to be completely nervous and scared. I had a stillbirth at 32 weeks 8 months after I lost my 4 month old daughter to a heart defect. When I got pregnant in 2009 I was a disaster! I bought a doppler and listened to my LO's heartbeat every night before I went to sleep. It was something that helpd to calm my fears.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Ihope and pray you have a HH9M and you deliver a perfect and healthy baby!

Have you spoken with Dr. Collins of the Pregnancy Institute? He is a wonderful research doctor who has dedicated his work to studying stillbirths and preventing them in subsequent pregnancies. His website is www.preginst.com. I didn't know this but if you have a full term stillbirth as I did, I am at 1/4 chance for it to happen again so if there are things I can do to prevent it, it's well worth it to me.
