slow heart rate at 6+ weeks?

Postby emilyadam » Wed May 14, 2014 7:31 am

I went for my second /s yesterday and baby measured 6+weeks with the heart beat of 120 bpm.
The doctor is not really happy as he would like to see a heart beat of app.160 bpm.
I am staying of work for the rest of the week and going for another u/s next Tuesdays.
Is 120 bpm to slow for 6 + weeks ?

A little late but I have a friend from the TTC side who is now 11 weeks and at her 31 dpo u/s showed one baby with a heartbeat of 120bpm measuring 6 weeks 2 days...so for anyone who may read this, 120 bpm at 6 weeks can end up just fine :)

My baby had a hb of 109 at 6w3d and I was told it was totally normal. It won't reach 160 until baby is further along. 120 is a great hr.

Everything I have read as well said over 100 is good for 6 weeks. Dn't forget at 6 weeks baby's heart may have just started beating and it isn't too fast at first.

160 BPM for 6 weeks is really high. I am not sure this is correct?

Mine was 116 bpm at 6 W 3 D and it was fine. I am not sure if I ever exceeded 160 (except at home doppler) as mine is usually around 140 - 150. It also depends on the time of the day, when baby is extremely active then his/her HB will be higher than when he or she's sleeping.

I think 120 bpm is normal, more or less what''s expected at the earlier weeks.

from 5-7 weeks, 90-120hpm is normal. It doesn't go higher till 9-10 weeks.

at 6+ weeks its just starting to get into a pace, so its not going to be fast.
