BFP on Cycle #2 after MC

Postby mrspettis » Thu Oct 09, 2014 11:28 am

YALL...I am freaking out!! I just found out earlier today that I am pregnant again. We TTC for 11 months for #1 and got pregnant in July, MC'd on 8/9/14 and now I am pregnant again. We were not shy about telling our loved ones we were expecting last time, but I do want to be more guarded this time around. I also dont know when I should go to the Dr to get my blood drawn. DH wants me to wait until Monday and a few more tests to call the Dr, but given our history I dont know if I want to wait till then. Any advise?!

I'm in the same boat. I'm not telling anyone until im 13 weeks. Your doctor will probably want to see you earlier than normal, I would just call them and ask when. I was having some serious anxiety about losing this baby, and having my first ultrasound, and seeinh the heartbeat a little earlier at six weeks really eased my fears! :)

I got pregnant in April this year and miscarried at the end of May, had a period in July and August and got pregnant again in September. Im nine weeks and a day today. I would say to do whatever makes you feel better when contacting the doctor. I've had severe anxiety and even panic attacks during this pregnancy from fear of another miscarriage( it doesn't help that I've been spotting and had other previous miscarriages years before) but I've had several ultrasounds and baby had also grown perfect and I heard the heart beat on the obs doppler last night, I also have my own doppler that I bought offline and am able to find baby most of the time with it. I hve only told three people including my hubby about the pregnancy and we will probably wait till close to 20 weeks before we tell anyone. I know how hard it is to relax so just follow your gut instinct and do what you feel is best. Best of luck! And congrats I hope you have a happy and healthy nine months

First off, congrats! I'm going through a VERY similar situation as you and was surprised when I called my OB to schedule an appt. They didn't see a reason to bring me in any earlier than their standard 8-12 week prenatal appt -- even though I mc'd in August. I was pretty disappointed but understood that bringing me in any earlier for bloodwork, u/s, etc. is really just for my peace of mine. See your doctor when YOU'RE ready :)
