"Hormonal"

Postby mrsm44 » Sun Oct 26, 2014 9:18 pm

So, my mom keeps commenting on how "hormonal" I am with this pregnancy, compared to my last. Okay. Let's get a couple of things straight. I am off my anti-depressants...because I am afraid that it will cause birth defects. Secondly, I lost a very much wanted baby at 21 weeks...10 months ago. Ummm, I think anyone would be scared shitless? Pardon my language. She just makes me so angry sometimes. It's no wonder that I am emotional...sure, the hormones certainly don't help...but jeez. Don't you think the other factors have a huge bearing?? Call me hormonal one more friggin' time, I dare you!

LOL! Not laughing at you, laughing because I know so well how you feel and I love your last comment ;)

Even if it was hormones, do people really think pointing it out every day is going to help?

Plus kudos to you for managing being off your meds. I crash and burn off mine. Even on them it's been hard enough not chewing everyone's heads off the last 6 weeks. I've been a cranky, snapping turtle.

I totally understand...I am barely holding it together though...for real!! I wonder if there is a certain point in pregnancy that it would be safer to start taking them again?

That's a good question. I don't know. I guess it depends on which ones you are taking.

My dr switched me to cipralex in 2009 when we told her we wanted to ttc since its safer, has less side effects and I managed fine on the lowest dose.

My ob advised it was more beneficial than risky for me to be on them. If you don't need them, no point in taking them, but if you do I think it is worth avoiding/reducing the anguish.

I am struggling as is so I can imagine its hard for you. You could always ask your dr if it's safe or not.
