A lady I worked with had this happen

Postby Laura1105 » Thu Jan 17, 2008 10:47 am

Hello....I don't have a story to share about myself, however I do have a co-worker and a close friend that had that happen. Here are thier stories. Oh and FYI, I am on here b/c I just had my first M/C on Monday. I am so very sad. I can only imagine what you must be going though after 3....

Story 1 - Co-worker had a son, then miscarried 2 times (one early in pregnancy and one late in pregnany, 5 months along) then she went on to have another son. Then she miscarried again, then went on to have a daughter. So although they weren't 3 in a row, she had 3 in total.

Story 2 - My close girlfriend's mom had 3 in a row. She had my girlfriend first, the eldest, then had 3 in a row. My girlfriend, who was between 8-13 at the time, said she remembered laying with her mom in the hospital and saying "mom I don't need to have a brother or sister". Well, her mom went on to have 3 more girls right in a row after the 3 miscarriages. They have stong faith in God and I believe that is what helped them though.

I hope these stories help. Good luck with number 4. I assume you are seeing specialists to help you though this.

Kisses and hugs,
Laura

Hi

So sorry for your losses.

I had a stillborn daughter in August 2005 after 2 years ttc, after a long 16 months ttc again we got a BFP only to miscarry at 6 weeks in Jan 06. I then had another BFP in May and had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks. We had genetic testing and found out that DH has a translocated gene which may have caused the miscariages but not the stilbirth.

Now on to happier times - just when we were getting the results of all the tests we'd had I got another BFP on September 27th last year. We had a few very nervous moments early on and the worry of an amnio but I'm happy to say that the amnio came back all OK and my 20 week anomoly scan was all OK. I'm now 21 weeks and whilst this story isn't over quite yet I'm increasingly positive that we'll be bringing our little girl home in a few months time.

Good Luck- the road is hard and there were so many times I wanted to give up but now it all seems worth it - stick with it.

Helen x

I have had 3 mc's (2 of them back to back) and we are 4 weeks pregnant again.
I really feel like this one is it.

I had three miscarriages in one year last year, and was at my wits end after three fertility doctors who could see no problem with either of us after many, many, many tests.
I was going crazy, and actually did some research on some hospital up North who does immune blood treatments, because I was wondering if it had to do with my immune system. I was SERIOUSLY going to consider doing them--very expensive, very "out there", but that's how desparate I was to have a sibling for my son.

I just so happened to quit my job October of last year, and we moved to a different state. I saw my fourth fertility doctor there who decided to just do a clomid and IUI treatment, even though I obviously didn't have a problem with ovulating or getting pregnant. I figured, what they hey. I went on baby asprin every day (which by the way I have several friends who take this and it 'works'), and some extra folic acid.

I got pregnant immediately and didn't have again much hope as my HCG was again low (it was 29 at 13 days past ovulation). Everyone else on TWW had numbers in the 100s and it was again so depressing.

However....here I am--- 36 weeks pregnant and getting ready to deliver my healthy "29- HCG" healthy baby soon. What was it---the quitting of my job? The clomid/iui? The baby aspirin? God's time? Obviously the last one, but what else? Don't give up. Don't keep beating your head against a wall though---change things.....do research, don't leave it up to doctors.

Good luck!!

What an inspirational thread! Here's my story. I've had 5 miscarriages! Blighted ovum, missed miscarriage and chemical. All of 'em. Nothing's wrong with DH and I. Finally, my OB decided to put me on baby aspirin and 5mg Folic Acid. I also took some soy isoflavones. Those does the trick. I delivered a healthy baby girl. When she was 10 months I found myself pregnant again effortlessly. Even though I wasn't taking aspirin and all that, my second baby was ultra sticky and was born healthy and looking like daddy. Then, when I was about ready to have another, I went on to have 2 more miscarriages. A missed miscarriage and a chemical. And now I'm pregnant again. I went on baby aspirin and folic acid this time. So far I have ruled out chemical so I'm hoping that this is a sticky one. There's always hope. I'm really ok if this pregnancy doesn't work out. I was desperate for one and God gave me two beautiful girls it's more than I asked for and I still weep when I looked at them and reminisced those years of TTC and heartbreaks. I hope this thread would inspire other TTC-ers with losses. :)

Keep trying and keep the faith. If you believe, it WILL happen. :)
