Freaking out!

Postby Jonibananas » Tue Dec 24, 2013 11:19 am

It's so surreal to say, but I got a bfp yesterday night at 9dpo and I'm just freaking out. It's my first bfp ever and I don't know what to do. I called my RE and they scheduled a blood test for Thursday, and I'm so scared that it will come back negative. I always thought that once I got two lines there would be no uncertainties, but reading about mc's and cp's over the last 16 months has me very hesitant. Couple that with no symptoms, a little nausea and my boobs feel a little fuller, and some a hey joints and bloating, but nothing like you hear or read. I was expecting to KNOW, but I'm still uncertain, even vivid dreams that haven't been consistent. I just need some words from you ladies to ease my fears.

Congratulations on your BFP! I wouldn't worry about symptoms as everyone is different and it's so early for you the Hcg levels are probably not high enough yet to start causing mayhem yet lol. Though seriously, some women are more tolerant to hormones than others.
As for the worrying, I did and still do worry about things going wrong, I think it's only natural. I just try to focus on all the positives to get excited about when I start to feel negative. Hope your blood goes well and eases your mind. :)

The symptoms aren't always noticeable but it doesn't mean that something is wrong. Definitely normal to wonder if everything is okay. My first pregnancy my only real symptom for the first two months was sore nipples. This pregnancy, before the bfp I really felt like AF was going to start. There was nothing that made me feel I was pregnant ....I just tested out of habit and was shocked to see a positive after 2 years ttc.
Good luck and congratulations :-)

Firstly, the other ladies are right, not everyone has definite symptoms and 9dpo is especially early. At that stage I was convinced that AF was starting any second until I got bfp at 17dpo. I also commented to my midwife at 5 1/2weeks that I was worried about a lack of symptoms. Then at around 6weeks they kicked in and boy did they kick in! My advice is to enjoy this last moment of normalness while it lasts because chances are in the coming weeks you will be wishing you felt like your old self.

You could be one of those lucky ladies that don't have many symptoms. SIL didn't even know she was preg until 9weeks due to lack of symptoms.

Good luck
