Nervous Newbie@4weeks

Postby GoldyLocks » Thu Jun 04, 2015 8:18 am

Hey ladies,

The Mr. (48 yo) and I (39 yo) have been TTC for 5 months. The last cycle (only a faint BFP) resulted in a chemical at 4w3d. Here I am the very next go round with another BFP. The blood test confirmed it with an HCG at 817. Today puts me at 4 weeks.

As I'm sure many of you can relate, I am beyond nervous about EVERYTHING. I'm trying to stay prayerful and positive. My next appointment is in 2 weeks.

Well, that's the quick and dirty. Thanks for reading.

Welcome! Congrats hun. Dont worry it is totally normal to feel what you are feeling.. It will be a roller coaster, so do take it one day at a time.. Those numbers are great did you get another beta after or before that ?

Awesome betas. Come join us at the February due date club. I also had a mc and a chemical before this bfp, so I understand what you're going through. Congrats and h&h pregnancy!

Thanks Honey and Yeli!

I have only had one draw. Is that odd? My appt with the doc isn't until 6/17. Should she have ordered another or is not always done that way?

It isn't always done that way. Some doctors want to make sure your hCG levels are rising but some will only do a single draw to confirm a pregnancy and wait to assess more at the next appointment. Others will only do multiple draws if you have either had several losses or if the first draw was low to ensure that levels are still rising appropriately. It all depends :) I had one draw when I started spotting at 6 weeks, and they mentioned doing a second but the first numbers were good enough that they weren't worried about ensuring it went up.
