I had an epi and c-section, but the epi did not cause me to have to have the section...it worked perfectly and I pushed for 3 1/2 hours but had to have a section bc she was sunny side up and would not come out! lol

I wasn't sure how to vote... when you say "with help", what does that mean? Lol. I was induced due to pre-e, tried to have an epi but they couldn't get the needle into the right place so I ended up with no drugs, and it was a smooth and easy labor. So no interventions other than the induction. Didn't even tear or anything!

I'm planning on going natural this time around now that I know I can do it!

If I would not have had an epi I would have had to have a c-section.. The only intervention I had was pitocin as well..

I had my water break and got to the hospital not having 1 single contraction, so they checked me and I was at 1cm 0 effaced (had been there since 37wks). 6 hours into it Dr came and checked me still 1cm 0 effaced and so she ordered pitocin to be given within the next 4 hours if I didn't start having contractions and of course I didn't start having any "real" ones lol. So they checked me before pitocin (10 hours from water breaking at this point) and I was still 1cm 0% effaced.. so I went to sleep with the help of some iv meds.. and woke up at around 5ish (am) with contractions on top of each other (1 min apart, lasting a min each) so everybody though I was close but when the nurse checked I was at 2cm's. At 7am (shift change I had them check again oh 18 hours into labor too) and I was at 2-3cm but the nurse could tell the contractions were very intense and I was starting to tense up more and more with each one so she called the dr to get the okay for an epi. thankfully got that in place at 11:30am and was at 9 1/2cm's an hour later.. and with maybe 10 mins of pushing DD was out!!!

ETA: the total time from my water breaking to DD being born was 24 hours and DD's heart rate was dropping during this as well (they said her cord was around her neck)...

I was induced with pitocin, but went med free otherwise. Delivery was fast and smooth. No complications! Recovery was also a breeze. I felt like I ran a marathon and my muscles were sore, but I could get up and pee by myself moments after birth, my bleeding slowed WAY down hours after birth, and I left the hospital the next day.

I had an epi, and a c-section, I don't think the two are related.

I had a sunny side up would.not.budge baby. Fully dilated, pushing for 5+ hours there was no downwards movement. I was so excited that he went from breech to the "right way"....ha!

I am glad I got the epi and that it helped to give me the stamina to push for so long. My c-section wasn't for lack of trying.
