Pregnant 5 Months after C-Section

Postby kierann » Wed Jun 22, 2011 3:50 pm

I posted this same topic on the Feb due dates forum. I am just looking for people in similiar situation. I am 40 years old and pregnant with my 2nd child just 5 months after having c-section with my first. I have concerns and if I had time on my hands I would have waited longer. However, at 40 and with history of infertility I do feel blessed to be pregnant naturally.

Totally not in the same ship, but I wanted to say CONGRATS! That is wonderful. All through college I was a nanny for a wonderful mother in her 40s who had her two children close together - you will be amazing!

I got pregnant 5 months after DS2. I was really worried but my OB said they really only care if it's within 6 weeks of the previous c/s. I'm sure it will all be just fine :)

I know a lady who is pregnant with number 4 and all her babies are less then two years apart, so she must have gotten pregnant again each time in less then a year. She's delivered all of them c-section and plans to deliver this little number 4 c-section too.

Thanks for the replies. I went for my first Ultrasound appointment today and they did a vaginal ultrasound. Showed I was measuring 6 weeks 1 day pregnant which falls right around the time I thought I got pregnant. Saw a little heartbeat!! Doc and Ultrasound tech said all looked good so far. It feels real now.

I got pregnant 9 months after my c-section with twins and my friend got pregnant 5 months after her c-section with her son. Both of our doctors do not seem overly concerned. I am putting my trust in them. Enjoy your pregnancy and the blessing you've been given. Keep us updated!

I got pregnant 5 months after my c-section. I had a great pregnancy and my 1st VBAC. I also had to be induced for my 1st and 2nd VBACS. I have had 3 VBACS so far. My ob tried to talk me into a repeat c-section for my 1st VBAC so I left him and went to someone that would support my decision. Glad I did.

Hi there, I am in the same situation. I had a c-section in May and after 5 months I am pregnant again! With my first baby boy, we had an IUI after 2 years of trying to conceive and now I got pregnant naturally...how weird! I will have my first scan in the middle of November. I think I should be 5/6 weeks pregnant.
In the meanwhile I have very few symptoms, just nausea and moody!
Me 34 /DP 38
1st IUI on May 21st (cycle day 13)
June 4th= BFP
M/C on June 20th :(

2nd IUI on August 22nd
HPT 01/09, 02/09, 03/09, 04/09 all BFP
Sept 5th 14dpiui Beta Hcg= 415
Sept 7th 16dpiui Beta Hcg= 945
Sept 11th 20dpiui Beta Hcg= 5689
Sept 20th 29dpiui Beta Hcg= 33521

May 9th= My beautiful baby boy is born via c-section, his name Michael Anthony!

Sept 14th = HPT.... BFP, naturally!!! We are still in shock!
