Hoping for a VBAC.

Just found out we are expecting #2 and so thrilled. I had a horrible c-section experience with #1 and do not want a repeat. I missed the whole birth, so this time I am refusing c-section unless one of us is in trouble. I found a DR that supports VBAC! I am so set on trying my best to make it work. anyone have experience with vbacs or some advice to help me prepare myself?

ICAN dot org is a great place to start. International Cesarean Awareness Network. The VBAC companion is a GREAT BOOK!

I am hoping for one too. My first labor stalled at 4cm even with pitocin and was told at 39 weeks my pelvis probably wouldn't support my baby. He was only 7lbs 9oz. Anyway, I did go into labor on my own, water broke but 18 hrs later...c-section. My doc is willing to attempt a VBAC but is sending me for a growth scan next Fri, which I think is annoying but I will oblige if it gets her more on board. I think my body can do it this time :)

Good luck with yours! I have gotten a few books on VBAC and doing some research on it. Why did you have a c-section the first time?

my first c-section was elective because i was in a lot of pain. my torso is really short and my daughter actually broke two of my ribs from moving around at the end. the amount of pain i was in i couldn't see myself trying to push her out so we did a c-section 3 days later at 39 weeks. i am hoping i do not have the same problem happen this time. The first time i did not have time to research c-sections so i did not know the consciences until it was already done. i am reading a lot of books on vbacs and taking birthing classes this time. i really want to make this work

Jade: a VBAC after 4 csections? Wow. Isn't that risky. I tried for a VBAC with my last baby but it was not I the cards. I am definitely not risking a VBAC this time as The risks are to high.
