induction for a VBAC????

Postby eh_ep » Tue Jan 05, 2016 7:40 pm

I'm seeing my OB tomorrow so I will be asking her all this I was just hoping to be a little more informed. Can you be induced for a Vbac? Is it more dangerous?
I had an emergency c-sec with DD 7 yrs ago because of cord placement and heart rate decels I never even got past 3 cm before she was in distress.

This time I am in extreme pain and my OB has mentioned that I might not get past 37 weeks (that's next week), I have had my heart set on a Vbac for a very long time but I worry if it is safe to be enduced or if I would be better/safer to have a c-section?

I always heard that you weren't supposed to be induced for vbac. As to whether or not to have a vbac altogether that would be a personal choice. I would discuss your concerns with your doctor and go with your gut. My sister was doing a vbac after 2 previous csections and when she didn't progress they did do a little pitocin so I don't know.

I just had my 11 week appointment today and my OB said they wouldn't be able to do an induction if I were to have a VBAC. Might be different for you but that's what he told me today.
