Full moon babies

Postby firsttimeworrier » Sat Jan 10, 2009 7:26 pm

I know these full moon stories are probably just a myth but I am so ready to be done that I am reaching for straws here with the full moon this weekend.

Anyone who already has given birth let me know if it was on a full moon or not.

Just for fun.

I wasn't supposed to be delivering but I went into preterm labor with my twins at 24 weeks on a full moon (I didn't have them then, thank god). I was at a huge hospital with over 24 L & D rooms and they turned over 3 times during a 12 hour shift that night (excpet me who was on mag and staying put). The next night the L & D ward was dead, my nurse only had one other patient all night excpet me (still on mag).

I don't know how much of a myth the full moon thing is...

i asked in the hospital about the full moon thing and if it was true, and the nurses said no, but then again they also said it was their busiest night in months, so who knows! all i know is i was SO happy to go into labor, i just couldn't believe that little rat had to wait for a full moon, lol!

I haven't given birth yet but I did have contractions all night long Jan. 11th. I wasn't timing them but they were pretty regular and lasting 1-2 minutes. I tried to ignore them and keep sleeping but they kept me awake all night. It wasn't until today that I realized that day was a full moon so I know it wasn't pshychological. I thought maybe I was having prodromal labor but all last week all I had were a few crampy feelings here and there, nothing regular.
I dunno, I did a little reading on it earlier today and I think there might be something to the full moon thing. The next full moon is Feb. 9th and I'm ready to bet that if my baby isn't here before then he will come that day/night.

I was due the day of the full moon, and I didn't have my baby until 10 days later when I was induced.
