This thread is for anyone recovering from birth, surgery, or anyone who has to start exercising gently.

I have a seperated pelvis from my last pregnancy so can't do much of anything. My physical therapist has given me a few simple exercises to start out with. My goal is to be fit by the end of the year and maybe lose these last ten pounds (although I don't have a scale so will just have to judge how I'm doing by how I look).

Yesterday I went for an unplanned walk with my husband and kids. Walked about a mile looking for shoes. Came home and took some pain killers - I guess I am not at a place yet where I can go for walks!

Today I plan on doing two sets of crunches (15 each)
Two sets of pelvis lifts and then Plank Pose.

Ok, I'm going to match your 30 crunches and also do 30 leg lifts. I have no idea what a plank pose is, ha ha!

Ha! Your post made me smile. Here's a link to plank pose

So I did my cruches etc. Done for the day!! Actually my real strugge is that I cut out all added sugar and am cutting down on refined carbs. This is no fun at all  I just want my tea and cookies

I'm doing the 200situps/200squats (you can google that and get the site). I did it before when I was losing weight after dd2 and it worked really well. Well, I ate a little less but at least I was firming up lol.

Good luck ladies :)

Shooting4Fall - Wow! Are you going to do the 100 pushups too?

Marj-How's it going today? I'm about to do my regular cruches/pelvic lifts/plank thing. I guess I will increase what I'm doing week by week. That's the plan anyway :D

I totally fell off the sugar-wagon. Had a pop-tart last night! Today is another day and I am going grocrey shopping so that I have stuff to nibble on when the urge strikes.

MommaSprite-Congrats on starting your exercise routine! I can't match yours but I will do my crunches this morning too - (a whopping 30 of them). I'm going to add Cobra pose to my regime.

Oh, an ablounger, that sounds like fun! Exercising always sounds more fun when it's associated with lounging. ;-)

I did my exercises yesterday. Today I'm going to do 50 leg lifts (25 per leg) and the 30 crunches again.

Not doing so well on the sugar wagon myself. Had a coke with lunch today.

How are you girls doing with your exercise? My foot's feeling a lot better, so we started P90X last night - over an hour of chest, arms, and abs. If it was something high impact like jumping jacks or running in place, then I just did leg lifts instead. But it was still intense! I'm determined to not miss a day until we go to Jamaica! Tonight is plyometrics. Wish me luck!

I wasn't getting updates in my email so I thought we had all given up already :)

Yay MightyMarj!! I am very impressed!

I had to go to ER last week because of a kidney stone and I haven't done any exercise since. I guess I've been feeling sorry for myself. I am going to do my 30 cruches etc. right now. Thanks for the inspriation!

I'm so sorry to hear about the kidney stone! That sounds very painful. Did you pass it yet?
We did plyometrics tonight, which was a lot of squats and jumping. I couldn't do much jumping because of my foot, so I did squats and lunges instead when I had to. But still . . . Whew! Not for the faint of heart. I'm going to my podiatrist tomorrow morning, and I'm hoping he'll give me the all clear for jumping. My foot hurts a little from the exercise but not too bad.
There's no way I'm giving up when I'm going to be seen in a swimsuit in 40 days!

It always seems to be something with me. I threw my back out again. four the fifth time since my baby was born  I have a connective tissue disorder that makes my joints hyper-mobile and it feels like this last pregnancy has ruined my body. My back keeps falling out of alignment and my pelvis is not going back together. I might be having a plate put in to stabilize things :( The only other option I have is to exercise. Strong muscles = stabilized joints.

So long story short, I haven't gotten any more exercise in. and I still have a kidney stone.

MommaSprite: Congrats on 3 lbs lost! I never thought about how much the milk weighs  and Leslie Sansone cracks me up. She is such a goof but I like her. I have a yoga video by her. I should get that out.

ETA: Thanks for letting me whine - I try not to do it to my DH otherwise I'd whine all day!!!!!!!!!

Marj: You are rockin it girl! How's your foot doing? Sounds like you have good motivation - Jamaica sounds wonderful.

Well, the bad news is that after being in the ER for 4.5 hours yesterday (see off topic for full story), we were too exhausted to work out last night. But tonight it is ON! We did 3 days straight of P90X before that, and our bodies are already changing. My foot is doing great, but I still have to modify some of the jumping/running moves so that I don't hurt myself. But I can do most of it!

Mommasprite, way to go on the 3 lbs! Keep it up, girl.

Ete, so sorry to hear about your back and that you still haven't passed your kidney stone. Try not to get discouraged and just do what you can because, like you said, stronger back muscles will help keep you from throwing it out again. I slipped a disc last month, and that's another reason why I want to be stronger.
