At work pumping mom--where is the weirdest place you pumped?

Postby 27jillfinallypreggo » Thu May 17, 2012 8:28 pm

I have had to pump on a plane (while traveling for work)

In a closet at a mediator's office

In a bathroom in the airport

In my office

In a special lacation room at a client's office (that was pretty nice)

In my car while driving

Anyone have any funny pumping stories? I have a few more months of pumping (I quite pumping but not bf with dd around 14 months and plan to do the same) so I need some humor!!

I've been lucky so far! My work gave me a key to an office that is vacant and I even keep my pump in there. (I don't want to bring it into the lab! Or leave it in the hall it was expensive!).

I've only ever pumped at the office in the special room they have there. Or at my house. I've never had to pump in the car, and I haven't traveled anywhere out of town on an airplane thankfully. I absolutely despise pumping. I hate everything about it.

When you stopped pumping, how did your supply hold up? I'm already at a lower supply now and wondering when'/if i do eventually stop pumping, how that would work. Would I still produce enough BM for the other times of day that I am breastdeeding? Morning, evening and overnight (once sometimes twice)

with dd at about 13/14 months, I cut down to 2x a day pumping (down from at least 4). Then I went to 1x a day a few weeks later and then at 15 months I just stopped at work. I never had any engorgement or any problems. I nursed dd at night and in the morning and sometimes at naps. I gave her the remaining frozen milk until it was gone. THen at 16 months I got pregnant with DS and ended nursing a few weeks later.

But I didn't have any problems at all and loved how I just stepped down nursing.

I'm a part time substitute teacher at an elementary school, so everytime I come into work I have to pump in a different classroom. However...the weirdest place was in the corner of a first grade classroom where I had to sit in a tiny little chair and pump at a mini size child's desk!

I have to pump in the employee restroom at work...

let me just say I HATE IT! I feel so dirty. Even though the room is not dirty, the thought of eating in there is just icky. So why would I pump in there ya know...ick.

But I have had to pump while DH was driving. Even in the drive through at the bank, and pharmacy drive through...oh yea love it!
