driving myself crazy

Postby jessm » Mon Jun 04, 2012 8:41 am

So, I've decided I can't keep driving myself insane. If Declan gets a few ounces of formula here and there, it isn't the end of the world. I can't keep torturing myself, paining over not pumping enough. I also can't pump in the MOTN and then tend to Declan for his MOTN feeding and then still get up for work in the morning. Its not good for anyone. So I decided I didn't care any more. I pump what I pump.

Then this morning I pumped:

Awww! Love the photo. And I agree--driving yourself crazy with fretfulness is never a good thing. I bet you'll even pump more if your not stressed! :)

nice output!

You are entirely correct, too. You cannot work yourself crazy to do all that in MOTN. I actually have never pumped at night time. I don't know how people do that and actually function the next day.

Abby has been getting a little formula mixed with her BM during the day at daycare and I honestly don't feel bad about it. I have done my best with a regular pumping schedule everyday i'm at work, and I pump what I pump. Sure, I wish I could pump 100ozs a day, but I can't!

Also, now that Abby is eating more foods throughout the day, she has been drinking slightly less so she is actually at this time getting LESS formula and mostly getting my BM while I'm at work which is nice.

It IS. He drinks formula and breast milk like a champ. The kid is a crazy good eater, and yet somehow not chubby lol he's in the 10th percentil for weight, but the 50th for height. But also he was EBF for 5 months and gets less than 10 oz of formula a week.

You're doing awesome!

This was the hardest age for me to keep up with nursing also, and I didn't even have to work and pump during the day! They are growing so fast right now, and getting closer to needing a little bit of solids, etc.

(My little man ate a lot too, and he was very long and thin... but always moving, even now, LOL!)

Just keep relaxing, doing all you can to increase and maintain milk supply, and just go with it!
