Pregnancy Symptoms While Breastfeeding?

Postby DueInMayMamma » Tue Aug 28, 2012 4:36 pm

Maybe it's just me having baby fever again, but here lately I keep getting this nagging feeling that I may be pregnant (I know, I know, just take a test to be sure...but I always keep forgetting to pick one up). Anyway since I'm breastfeeding I figured that may be the reason I'm feeling off (light headed, bloated, tired, fertile cm but no period) so I figured I'd ask some of you all if you got pregnant while breastfeeding and what may have tipped you off in the first place that you needed to test?

I got pg while breastfeeding DD. I didn't have anything that tipped me off symptom wise, I was about 12 dpo and just tested so I wouldn't have to worry about being pg. Suprise:):) But, around the 5 week mark I got so, so tired and by 6 weeks bfing was got harder to do because my nips were so sensitive. I stopped bfing 8 weeks.

Good luck!

I wonder about it all the time since I haven't gotten my period back. I've tested once.

Before getting AF (just got it this month  ) I would test once a month to make sure. I do think our bodies can mimic pregnancy symptoms a little bit while breastfeeding since our hormones are still working overtime. I used to get really PMSy for a few days each "cycle" without having a period...i think my body just went through the motions of the cycle without actually cycling (if that makes any sense!) and period symptoms and pregnancy symptoms can be similar, too.

Well I just got a call from my doctor that may explain why I've been feeling off. Before I got pregnant I had hypothyroidism, but apparently now I have hyPOthyroidism!! I know it's common, I just never thought it would really happen to me lol. however, today when I went to the bathroom, I had my fertile cm, but this time there was blood. Not a lot at all, it was probably the size of a blood vessel (like the ones in your eyes), but it was there none the less. DH and I had unprotected sex about a week or two ago, so I suppose it could be I.B., but I've never had that before and I'd always heard it was more brown than red or pink. I'll probably test over the weekend just to be safe.

My IB was brown. It was a day after my BFP.

I got pregnant after my period returned but I was still nursing him 10ish times a day. The first sign, even before a missed period, I would say by about 7-8 dpo, was insanely sore nipples. Like 100 times worse than before a period or while ovulating. I never even had sore nipples in the very beginning so it was weird for me to suddenly have them while nursing a 15-16 month old toddler!

How are you doing now? Have you taken an hpt? I felt very pregnant on and off for nearly two months as my fertility was gearing up to return. Basically every time my body tried to ovulate but didn't quite make it, I'd get pregnancy symptoms. And when I did in fact get pregnant (never got post-partum AF), I felt less pregnant than before LOL Only symptom was sore nips.

My neighbor told me that hooter hider is the good nursing cover because of the features of rigid neck line and adjustable neck strap. My query is how are these useful exactly? My neighbor is pregnant with her first so apologies if this sound silly.
